Youngkin told you what he will do

The religious right coming to your public schools the dumbest ideas.

And CRT hahaha these women are idiots no one is teaching that in public schools

You all just voted in a Governor that claims to not know the age to vote???

Youngkin is now your Nazi leader and your daughters are hosed.

Not even going to bother to report this troll. Glad everyone can see what kind of garbage the left is pushing. So happy Youngkin won.

I’m a democrat but I’m not surprised by Youngkin’s win. The school closures in 2020-2021 created a new unique alliance between parents on the far right and parents that just wanted schools open.

While I voted D, I’m also not willing to kowtow the party line when it’s not right, and I thought in August 2020 schools should have opened hybrid and I was vocal about it. And I told the school board as much and they didn’t care - haha. I hope everyone remembers in 2023 when they are up for re-election.

Its a shame because the people who just wanted schools open don't yet know what they signed away in exchange. Yay schools will be open but also masks will be banned and we'll have no ability to keep kids safe if/when there is another dangerous variant.

Schools will be open but now half the english curriculum has been banned by the crazys. Good luck to your kid on the AP exam.

Schools will be open but VA's public school reputation will plummet - good luck on college applications.

Schools will be open but unable to hire qualified teachers and teachers continue to leave the profession in droves rather than continue to be screamed at by newly empowered parents. - Enjoy your 35+ student class sizes and inexperienced barely certified teachers.

People wanted schools open but did not accept that there are consequences and it isn't possible to just magically return to 2019. Now everyone gets to pay the price.

While I voted D, I'm not really into the doomsday scenarios. If you can remember - let's meet up here in 4 years. I'll wager not much will change in terms of schools in the next 4 years - either way.

Lol - happy to meet up in 4 years.

But considering that more than one VA school board has advocated for not just banning books they don't like but holding an old fashioned book burning, this past week, I don't think we'll have to wait that long.

OK but like I said - call out the Ds too. They flirt with censorship too and fwiw I don't like it on either side.

The Democrats not only flirt, they actively encourage censorship. That’s why people are so disturbed by the internet censorship of any ideas that go against the Dem narrative. There is censorship all over and cancel culture is simply the Dem version of censorship.

Agree that it is disturbing on both sides, but I actually find the Dem censorship even more disturbing because they try to be more sneaky about it, manipulating the media and clamping down on opposing voices.

It will be interesting to see if Youngkin really spends more on schools and raises teacher salaries. I suspect he'll give a 5% boost, which is in line with inflation then claim he gave more money. I'm a Dem and don't think he'll go full MAGA but his LT & AG will as well as the House. Then in 4 years we Dems will pull Virginia out of the gutter and start over. Rinse & Repeat.

OTC - the Republicans are now pulling VA out of the gutter Democrats have put them in. It’s going to be great to get a fresh start.

LOL

The top state for business, for the second year in a row, is Virginia.

Every single time, it’s in response to some dumba$$ comment like “Youngkin didn’t say anything that is an attack on women’s rights.”

If we can all stop posting dumba$$ comments like that and all agree that he’s pro-life and will sign anti-abortion legislation then we never need to post it again.

NP. Can we agree that any legislation would need to start in the General Assembly? The governor doesn't have the authority to ban abortion by executive order.

Yes, and the governor also has the power to veto bat-sh1t crazy GOP bills.

The last time the GOP had anti-abortion voting power in the GA (2012) they pushed through 24-hr waiting period and unnecessary ultrasound (after pushing for vaginal probes).

2022 GOP is way crazier and ambitious. 2021 was record year for the most anti-abortion legislation - ever.

I don't see any evidence for your claims about the 2022 General Assembly in Virginia.

The GOP won the house.

There are some pro-life Ds in the senate.

And the LG, Winsome Sears, said she’d support a heartbeat ban.

^ the LG casts tie-breaking vote, if needed.
