He doesn’t have the authority to change bathroom policies for transgender students. That came down from the Fourth Circuit, only SCOTUS can overturn it (which they declined to do).

You left off fully fund Virginia's HBCUs.

It’s not on his website that I saw can you link that.

Link?

Are you unable to google??? JFC. It's not on his website, but he has pledged this many times in speeches and it has been reported extensively. -DP

"He has also pledged to include funding in his budgets for all five of Virginia’s historically black colleges and universities."

https://www.nbc12.com/2021/11/01/cheat-sheet-youngkin-mcauliffe-issues/

Nothing in your link say he will fully find Virginia HBCUs. He doesn’t even commit to a certain amount of $ for the HBCUs.

Here ya go. Amazing what I can do with my google machine. And do you understand what "fully fund" means?

He didn’t say “fully fund,” only that his budget would include funding for all of the HBCUs. He could throw them each a trivial amount of funding and check off that campaign promise.

I vote in VA and have since I was 18 (I'm 39 now) and I have always had to give my license to a volunteer for verification in order to vote. Where is this not a standard practice? I don't understand the issue with this as it has just be a normal thing for me.

That is false. You can vote with only a voter registration card, no photo id needed. The photo id requirement was only implemented under McDonnell and was repealed last year.

Kathy Tran put up a bill to legalize abotion through post birth. Basically she is on tape saying her bill would allow abortion through crowning and if a baby survived and abortion, to allow it to be set aside to die slowly.

That legalized infanticide bill did not pass.

This is incorrect. Tran’s bill would have removed the phrase “substantially and irredeemably” when it comes to defining the risk to the mother mother, would have required one physician to certify the need for termination instead of three, and would have allowed second-trimester abortions to be performed in a clinic instead of a hospital.

During a hearing on the bull she misspoke in response to a question about whether her bill would allow termination while a woman was in labor. She later clarified that her bill would not allow an abortion in case, and labor would proceed through delivery.

You are not clear as this man has absolutely no authority over curriculum, unions, teachers, or anything. We all know this.

You sure about that? The governor appoints the State Superintendent of Public Instruction to the Virginia Department of Education. This person (currently James F. Lane) also serves as secretary of the state Board of Education. Under the superintendent are various other agency leadership positions - who all report to the governor. These are a couple, for instance:

Division of School Quality, Instruction, and Performance – Donald Fairheart, Deputy Superintendent and Chief of Staff
The Division of School Quality, Instruction, and Performance leads the Department’s strategic initiatives to advance equitable student outcomes and comprehensive school quality. Through tailored support to schools, the division implements Virginia’s continuous school quality and improvement interventions. Additionally, the division leads the Department’s efforts aimed at advancing equity, closing achievement gaps, coordinating stakeholder engagement, and managing external communications and outreach strategies. Finally, the Division is responsible for supporting the implementation of Virginia’s Standards of Learning, strengthening curriculum resources, supporting best practices in pedagogy and providing technical assistance to teachers and schools.

Department of Policy, Equity, and Communications – Holly Coy, Assistant Superintendent
The mission of the Department of Policy, Equity, and Communications is to assist the Virginia Board of Education, the governor and the General Assembly in the development of legislation, regulations, and policies that promote student learning and achievement and to provide timely and accurate information about public education in the commonwealth. Department staff serve as liaison to the Board, and support the Board in promoting education reform. The department monitors federal policies and refers them to other divisions for oversight. The department maintains working relationships with the news media, educational organizations, and school divisions to ensure timely distributing of accurate information concerning the Board of Education policies and the Agency actions.

And McAuliffe promised HBCUs absolutely nothing.

The election is over. What McAuliffe would have done is no longer relevant to anything. Youngkin had to stand on his own with his policy positions now, he can’t point the finger at McAuliffe anymore. Can he do that? Can you support him without resorting to whataboutism?

After what we saw of McAuliffe constantly using Trump as his go-to deflection, it is beyond hysterical to hear you lecture anyone else. Oh, and of course the constant deflection of Dems on this website to Trump, goes without saying. Do better.

So I guess you can’t defend Youngkin on the merits. Sad.

He's already been defended - with proof - but you go on gaslighting. Wouldn't expect anything less of you.

Why are Republicans so fixated on viewing themselves as victims even when they win? It’s quite strange.

The only people I see perpetually milking victimhood are Democrats. And now, you poor babies are sulking because you lost.

Vouchers don’t give low income students options. They give middle class students options to get away from low income students.

Some low-income kids may benefit if their parents are informed and the kid can actually get a seat. But most won’t. Certainly not the SN kids.

Does anyone <70 actually watch TV news? I read my news from a variety of sources.

Youngkin was very squirrelly and has no track record.

Guess we will find out.
