Because he wasn't coming over to stab her, he was coming over to presumably engage in consensual sex.

So, again, if BB's plan was for no one to ever find out about the fetlife stuff- that stuff was done solely to lure joe into the house to set up this "intruder" scene- isn't that pretty naive?? Like, of course the police will investigate who this intruder dude was. And they'll find out pretty quickly about the fetlife invitation to come over.

He did assume the telegram stuff would be found out. That's why he made the accounts from CB's computer and phone. Juliana testified they made sure to only use those accounts when CB was home, so that during the investigation it would be believed it was CB texting on the accounts.

So then how did he try to explain the fact that Christine was stabbed?? Was he hoping the police would assume that Joe went crazy and stabbed her instead of engaging in their consensual plan? I'd think, again, that would be a hard sell, given that there seem to have been a ton of character witnesses ready to testify that Joe did this fetlife stuff all the time without any issues, and that he was a nice guy.

I read it. It is not explained in the chat. I think BB was just betting that people would be so prejudiced against a guy on these websites that they would believe he would do bonkers and start actually stabbing the woman. There are those old Craigslist murders where people went for purportedly consensual hookups and the guy just killed tjem, so I think he was betting people would think it was like that.
I don’t think BB is nearly as clever as he thinks he is though. The more complicated a plan, the more chances there are for a slip up. But I think he wanted a really complicated plan so that he could laugh at everyone fooled by his cleverness. No, it didn’t take Sherlock Holmes to figure this out, and you’re not the coronial mastermind Moriarty.

IMO he prob thought they wouldn’t go so far into it. He fancies himself too much. Prob thought they’d just consider Joe as a loser that likely did that anyways and him as the special IRS agent saving his family

Juliana testified that she and BB were very cautious to send the FetLife messages only when Christine was home because they expected them to be found during the investigation, they absolutely planned for that to be discovered and attributed to Christine.

Huh. When I went to law school in a northern state, we were taught to say Your Honor during mock trials. I went into a different field and don’t practice law, so I haven’t spent time in a court room.
