Feeling profoundly depressed

I think Trump will win. My family is Jewish. I feel like we are probably living in Germany circa 1919. Why can't people see what a scary monster this guy is?

He's not going to win.

Trump is far more pro israel than Hillary. His daughter converted to Judaism and his grandchildren are being raised Jewish.

Because they are dumber than cans of soup.

I am feeling the same way; despondent about the fact that Trump might very well win; but I also think about the people who feel the very same way about Hillary, and how despondent they will be is she wins. I might disagree on their opinions and even some of the supposed 'facts' they think they know, but can not deny the raw feelings. Either way, many people will be miserable.

Depression is understandable, but not warranted at this point. I suggest that you read the tweets this evening from Robert Costa (@costareports). He has close contacts inside Trump's campaign. Here are some of his tweets:

"My read of Trumpland tonight: They know the path is very narrow. They see the polls, pub and priv. But they're scrambling map post-Comey..."

"Many of them describe the way to 270 not as a direct shot but a series of upsets and bank shots, of strong R showing + depressed D turnout"

"But list of hurdles goes on and on. HRC and Dems highly organized. Early vote. Top Ds hitting trail. FBI news also enthusing D voters..."

"What you're seeing is a small group of aides who truly believe Trump's populism/non-trad pitch can put new things in play, in spite of data."

So, even Team Trump is counting on a miracle.

Don't worry. He won't win. Hillary's campaign has a huge "story" that they are about to drop. By election day we will be wearing our party hats and dancing in the streets in celebration of our victory.

OP three points:

I don't believe that you need to be concerned even if Trump wins. He is not anti-semitic. I am more concerned that he lacks the knowledge to be an effective president.

Second, I still have my doubts that he will win because of the electoral map.

Finally, if he does win I think those who voted for Hillary despite all of her flaws are squarely to blame. She was a disaster waiting to happen. If she were running against anyone other than Trump with the possible exception of Cruz, she would have been toast.

Trump really has no path to victory. This FBI nonsense is not going to get Trump the votes in those states that he needs to win. Hillary as a clear path and can lose in many of the swing states. It really is more about the electoral college.

This little bump in the road will change nothing -- our girl is going to win!!

Trump may win. Nothing will change. A President does not have that kind of power. The over-the-top reactions by people on both sides are much more concerning. It is a waste of precious energy to fret and worry. It is healthier to remember that there are good people on both sides. I am going to affirm peace regardless of who gets more votes. I am choosing to remember that we have checks and balances in place in our country that prevent any one branch from having control over our destiny as a nation.

And honestly - I don't like Trump, but comparing anything about this to "Germany circa 1919" is offensive and frankly, just stupid. Comments like this from both sides are exactly why we find ourselves in this position as a country.

Pretty shallow victory. A woman who probably should have been indicted long ago. A woman who has made very poor choices and shown terrible judgment for years. And, yes, so has Trump.

It's beyond that. Hillary has been and will finish off the selling of the American people and America herself.

OP, if you think Hillary is your answer, you're nuts. Sorry, but please read up on the facts before you make such outlandish posts.

I do think Trump is going to win, and a year from now, you might even see how wrong you are now.

Simply not true. One example: Gays now have the right to marry, thanks to Obama's court picks.

A President Trump can slash support to Planned Parenthood, driving up unwanted pregnancies.

A President Trump can kill the EPA and Federal Education Dept., meaning devastation for the disabled and catastrophe for the planet.

I am trying real hard not to fall into a deep depression. My life is already shitty enough - the fact that Trump is even this close makes me want to end it all.
