God. Thank you. It was crystal clear what he meant by the sombrero comment. Obviously too many people aren’t paying close attention - one reason why Trump continuously gets away with egregious behavior.

I checked out after the jet/poop video.

The sombrero videos were posted by Trump weeks before No Kings in mid-October and the poop video that followed. Just FYI.

Because ironically the DOJ wasn’t politicized previously. People did not leak for fear of losing their jobs. Also Trump is super litigious and always has been. Will they be released? With the 218 signatures on the discharge, the House has to vote. Then the Senate will have to vote and my understanding is it is unlikely to make it through the Senate, is that correct?

Trump would have to sign it into law.

Look at how hard he is trying to avoid being the one to squash it.

One could hope that when the votes come, the House and Senate have enough to override a veto. Now getting the AG to actually release the documents is another hurdle.

My guess is that we will pick any Dem or perceived Dem adjacent indiv in these emails and pin this all on them - focus on the enablers with such laser focus that the media will follow suit.

The vote to release the files should be not just veto proof, but unanimous in both houses. What possible justification could any senator or representative have for opposing it???

The problem with this is that a large cohort of men- yes, a large number- dont think anything is wrong with 15/16. They really dont. They wouldnt be friends with that person but they arent going to turn them in unless its their daughter (or son). And just wait for the whole - they look 18 or they dress 18 or they act 18 or they tricked them with a fake ID or they wanted it for the money or fame or attention.

Its disgusting and it should be called out every single time. They are going to say things like - its an arbitrary legal line or biologically they can have children at that age or whatever moral backsliding they come up with.

Its 18 point blank. 18-25or so is their own cohort. There are power and other dynamics at play for large age gaps. We can opine on all that but anyone who is an adult should not be involved with a child. There is no grey area. And I do look down on anyone over the age of 25- looking at you 40 year old women and men- who have sex with or date men/women under 25. Its not illegal but its not quite right either.

These emails have just come out from the Epstein estate, stupid. No politician was sitting on them. They were released immediately. The DOJ has been sitting on the rest of it, but those legally cannot be released unless Congress votes for it and Trump signs the order.

The sit room meets were to pressure Boebert and Mace, separately, into withdrawing their signatures on the 218 discharge petition so a vote could be averted. Those must have been horrendously high pressure meetings for these women. They bravely stood their ground. I don't agree with them on anything else, BTW.
