Where would you buy in Potomac, Bethesda, or Rockville? Send me links!

If you had four kids in public school (elementary through middle), and had up to $1.5 to spend on a home in Potomac, Bethesda, or Rockville, what house would you buy that's currently on the market? What would be your first choice neighborhood?

Please post links on Redfin of any houses or houses in neighborhoods you like

Wootton or W. Churchill school districts in Potomac. More house for the money than in Bethesda, and schools are better.

Burning Tree/Pyle/Whitman, beautiful street, walking distance to park + pool:

I'd buy in Bethesda if I could afford it.

Why do you all prefer Bethesda over Potomac or Rockville?

I live in Rockville and really love it, but there's something about Bethesda that has always appealed to me. There's obviously a lot of prestige associated with it. It's convenient, good schools, nice community.

This looks like a nice house (new to the market). Personally I'd like to be a little bit closer to downtown Bethesda but it's Whitman, if that's your preference.

I like Bethesda because it's closer in and more walkable/urban.

Where are you commuting? Unless a reverse commute, Bethesda hands down.

You could throw a rock to 495 from this house.

One house away from backing to Bradley Blvd, which to me is a dealbreaker...

OP here: Commute is to Columbia and DC (me and hubs, respectively).

Then Rockville may be better. I'd rule out Potomac unless there's something really perfect there.

I'd like to live in CC MD, although $1.5MM doesn't go as far as it should in this area!

Two of these are over your budget, but you never know... if they stay on the market you may be able to scoop one up.

Do you think Chevy Chase has prestige over Potomac?
