Yes. |
No. Both lovely but they appeal to totally different lifestyles. |
+1 Stay north of 495. That beltway will be a pia during commute. Need more info OP. What do you value in a home and school cluster? You want a home with a huge yard? Walkability? Diversity of race and SES in schools? Don't care about diversity? |

Would you consider Kensington? Zoned for Parkeood and WJ.
Great family friendly area, and easy access to NIH, 'Rockville or Bethesda. http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/4404-Edgefield-Rd-Kensington-MD-20895/37291146_zpid/ |
I think that's right. The CC homes are walkable to parts of downtown Bethesda and metro, yet close to 495 and downtown via Wisconsin and Connecticut. Potomac is further out for a DC commute, has bigger lots, can be more homogenous depending on what community you pick. |
| At this price point, the only places I would look are Bethesda (Whitman HS cluster) or McLean (Langley HS cluster). |
McLean is too far from Columbia. |
Didn't see that point about Columbia. Preference for me would be Whitman cluster in Bethesda. |

This home in Chevy Chase is lovely:

| Chevy Chase schools are not quite as good. I'd look in Bethesda/Potomac in the Whitman and Churchill clusters. |
| I love Bethesda 20816 but that's tough for the commute to Columbia. Even 20814 would be easier. Potomac is right out. |
| North of green tree rd and east of old georgetown rd. You can get a new build u der 1.5 m with 5-6 bedrooms and 5+ bathrooms. Wengate es, n bethesda ms and wjhs. Too many of the new houses are in the area to list here. |
Don't mean to be the grammar police, but....could you say it again in English? That neighborhood is literally within shouting distance of 495/270. No thanks. |
