“Among” the top maybe more appropriate. Curious where people think this one shakes out. And please do not trash individual kids ie “that kid is overrated and not really that good”. Use this as a positive “kid is really good” platform. Best players at each position in area:

Goalie: Landon, SJC ‘23
Defense: SJC x 2
Mid: Bullis stands out above rest
SSDM: SJC stands out above rest
Attack: Gonzaga, SSSA
LSM: Gonzaga, Prep ‘23
Faceoff: Prep stands out above rest

SSDM for SJC does not stand out above GZ—SJC SSDM going to Syracuse, GZ SSDM going to UNC. Coach Breschi and his staff’s call on this one maybe carries a little more weight than your opinion.

Uncle?

Not sure of the logic behind one going to UNC makes him better than another going to Cuse. The SJC SSDM is considered by many to be at or near the top in the class in the country. It’s not a knock on anyone else, nor thinking one knows more than an accomplished college coach.

Who are the many?

keyboard warriors let all pipe down. we will find out soon whose team and which individual player live up to their hype.

sadly lacrosse is going down the AAU path with 3rd party ranking systems... essentially pay-to-play, play to "seen" by Johhny lax bro from Inside Lacrosse.

Don't rule out the coaching staff that just has pure athletes on their roster who might play a 2nd or even a 3rd sport (he might not have the best stick skills) but I'm sure he can run right over your kid.

The Bullis and Landon coaching staff have always done a good job in getting multisport athletes to come out in the Spring even though their main sport might be football or hoops.

I recall last year Landon had a Villanova football commit playing lacrosse and the kid was pretty impressive in between the lines.

Is the MIAA the best lacrosse league in the area?

It is not in this area.

And I would think SJC would beat anyone in MIAA. And Prep and Landon are as good as any of the MIAA teams this year. Would go 50:50 against MCD, Latin, Calvert Hal, or Spalding. Maybe MIAA is deeper, but not clearly better.

I don't think this comment is true.

Is SJC playing anyone from the MIAA this Spring?

The MIAA is deeper than the IAC, and without a doubt deeper than the WCAC.

I've said many time, too many parents put way too much of an emphasis on results from summer and fall results at the NHSLS.

Find away to play in the Spring when it really matters.

SJC and Spalding have played the last few years with Spalding winning each time.

Will MIAA guy please take it to back of the cage. Don’t care. Ball more is not part of the DMV anyone more than Roanoke or VA beach. DMV does not go east of Laurel and Bowie it extends from Fredneck to Northern VA which only recently includes Low down county. However if WCAC combined with IAC and created tiers they would be stronger than the MIAA.

Why not care a lot of the kids play on the same clubs all summer

Anyone that follows either team know Wes plays everyone during scrimmages and Tom only plays his top guys.

I'd agree with that statement.

It won't ever happen as the WCAC is too obsessed with football and basketball.

The IAC would never want to be in a league with the schools in the WCAC. The IAC is all about prestige and was formed back in the day with what were considered the most elite and oldest student-athlete model privates in the close-in DMV (most of which were all boys when admitted). Bullis and SSSAS are not really even the right fit but members based on history and necessity for numbers. Gonzaga is only WCAC school that the rest of the League members would consider an appropriate fit based on their elitist view of their league and then only some. The IAC schools historically look down their noses at schools like GC DM and STJ.
