I wonder what her life will look like. Did you see the episode where Jessa was getting married and Jinger was so emotional and they cried and cried because the two of them were so close? I feel like there must have been somewhat of a bond like that between Jana and Jill. And now do they not talk?

Wow, I can't believe she did that. But, I'm divorced and I know just how hard it is. My husband cheated and I was so (wrongly) ashamed and worried for my kids that I didn't leave. Finally he did, thank God, life is so much better. But just to say, it was really hard to leave, coming from my own perspective, family, social circle, pressures, etc and I'm just a normal person. So I can imagine with the way she was raised and what she feels she has to lose, it's very difficult. Don't get me wrong she should still do it. And at this point she is defending an accused child porn offender.

I used to watch the show and I remember she just seemed like such a meek, Fundy girl. But then once she got married, she really really changed, became strong and capable in a way. And a great mom, really measured and kind very good to her in-laws. Just that little flash into her character tells me she has the guts to do this. She has the strength to do the very hard thing. And she has, hopefully still, her brother to help her get started. I hope she comes around and does that.

But I also thought young Josh seemed really kind and articulate in his interviews so what the hell do I know!

Jana and Jill seemed more like “nannies for the same family” than sisters. They divided the little kids up for the older girls to raise, and Jill was very close to her group of kids. Jana is now the last nanny standing, and I suspect that she wasn’t married off because the parents wanted to keep their housekeeper childcare around.

And I agree Anna is complicit. I just can't with the "she was brainwashed" BS. She knew his history, continued to create more kids with this predator, and obviously have them in his care. I have zero sympathy for Anna at this point.

Derek is getting salty on his Instagram. He just asked a goader "How do know they're not trying to leave?" ("they're" are other Duggars). Then he wrote that "The didn't know what we knew when we knew it" and "based on our history, I don't know what scare tactics are used on the others to keep them compliant." Among other stuff.

Derek is turning into a fun loose cannon now. He was already pissed that Jim Bob banned Jill from the family compound, and now that this is out, Derek seems ready to blow. I hope he signs a tell-all deal soon and we find out what it is he and Jill "knew when we knew it" and also what "scare tactics" Jim Bob is using to keep his adult kids in line.

And Jinger also only has 2 children so seems to want a smaller family. I think it seems more likely that Josh's kids will move in with Jim Bob and Michelle, where Jana can care for them. Someone on another board suggested watching NatalieLawyerChick's take on the Josh Duggar news so I did. Natalie's take on it was that Jim Bob & Michelle should be held accountable for something since they knew about the "inappropriate touching" but did not report it, get Josh help from a professional and especially because they did not protect the girls from him. She said that parents are mandated reporters. I've heard the that parents are not mandated reporters. Anyone know which is accurate?

The scare tactics have got to be $$. The Duggars were basically in poverty before their show took off. They didn’t have real health insurance. They lived in a 3/1 ranch house. Only second hand clothes and only Aldi shopping. They had some income coming in but were very stretched having 14 kids. I’m sure the older kids can remember what it was like, and now they’re adults with family of their own. I assume JB controls all the purse strings from TLC money from their early specials, and if the kids stray too far, they don’t get their money anymore. Not so much of an issue for Jill and Derek as they have a normal sized family and D has an actual college education from a real, actual, PUBLIC(!) college. So he has income options. Some of the other ones, eh not so much. They’re stuck in the family business of, like, being low rent landlords and selling sketchy used cars. And trying to rake in a bit of money on social media.

She might be claiming Jim Bob and Michelle specifically are mandated reporters because the role they play in their “church”. Aren’t they the pastors?

Josh's kids already live on Jim Bob/Michelle's property. Why again does Jana need to take the kids though.

She was born and raised in this cult, yes she is brainwashed. This cult has full control of her life, family, finances.
