Looking at the videos, any that aren't dropped will result in acquittal.

I'm not a right winger but I think that's totally wrong. People have different opinions. Sometimes very different. Understanding why they have different opinions is very difficult, because a lot of history goes into forming their opinion. They might not even know themselves why they think something. Which is why it is hard for me to "understand" what you think is so obvious. I promise you though, my own opinion is just as obvious to me as yours is to you.

You really don't have a clue.
I live in a very rural area. It would take a minimum of 20 minutes for police to get to my house.
A handgun is protection for me and my family from wild animals (yes) and people with intent to do harm to us.
I cannot rely on the police to protect me.
I can only expect them to show up after the fact.

The gun charge might stick. The first altercation might stick, unless there's a new video I haven't seen.

there’s going to be more evidence than the videos. whatever happened to make people feel they needed to disarm him.

He will get off, as the cops who shot that guy in the back.

Not even sure about the gun charge.

Appears the infamous plastic bag had a Gatorade bottle in it. You can see Vic 1 holding it in an earlier video and then on the ground at the scene (so no brick, no fire). Not sure how full it was.

It was a Molotov cocktail. It was clearly on fire. Poorly designed or not, it was clearly a Molotov cocktail that was lit and thrown at the shooter who was clearly running away and (to my knowledge) had not yet fired a shot. He also didn’t fire until it appeared he was trapped. Based on the video, he has a colorable claim to self defense.

In the video with two shooting victims, he was almost 100% certainly acting in self defense.

He shouldn’t of been there, he shouldn’t have been carrying, but he will have a strong self-defense claim at trial (if it even gets that far). I would like to know what the prosecutor is thinking here.

The shooter was a 17 year old from another state who came there to do what he did. He had NO business being there and will hopefully rot in jail for the next 60 years.

He had the legal right to be there (whether it was wise or not is another question). In most jurisdictions your right to self defense is very strong when you are legally somewhere you are allowed to be. Your right to self defense is strongest in your own property (home, car, work) and your right to self defense is incredibly weak if you are somewhere you don’t have a legal right to be (break in to the home of another). Whether he had no business there or not is irrelevant to his right to self defense.

he had absolute no right to be there. he did not live in that town, he drove there on purpose with an AR15. there was a curfew so he was out illegally. he had not right to be there at all.

Totally agree. Kyle Rittenhouse is just like the nut job who stormed Comet pizza. Neither care about small businesses or child abuse, respectively. They simply want to stir up trouble, feel special, and district themselves from the fact that they’re losers that are failing at life.

If you are so afraid for your life, why walk into the middle of a protest armed with a huge weapon? I don’t see the common sense there. Stay home.

Soviet chick says what?

Dude brought a long gun across borders and inserted himself where he didn’t belong.

Soviet chick should stop using his first name. I realize she is a defense attorney but there is no reason to humanize this scummy piece of excrement.

Isn’t the shooter a high school dropout degenerate who couldn’t even hack it in police cadet school?

He did not bring it across the state border.

He still crossed a border to commit multiple felonies.

I guess throwing that friend under the bus exposes the friend and family to multiple civil suits.

This kid is a peach. Piece of excrement who hates America and all that it stands for.

Think about it: This racist little shitbird was six months away from being hired by some shitty police department, where he’d doubtlessly abuse hundreds of people. These are the type of deplorable racists who aspire to be cops. Need police reform now. Get rid of all the bad apples and start over; the bunch is spoiled.
