I sure do. There have been parents who have been doing it for a few years and it takes them 20-30 minutes, no tolls.

Next?

And the dumbest post of the new year award goes to ^^^^^^

20-30 minutes from Rockville to Tysons in Rush Hour. I just fell out of my chair. That may happen once a year. 45+ is more realistic.

Still 30 minutes closer than the TSJ is at rush hour.

TSJ from Tysons? Probably similar to Rockville to Tysons. Depends on luck of the day. What the hell are we talking about anyway? People will drive if they think it is worth it. That simple. MU needs to show it is worth it. FCV, BRYC, VDA, MCLEAN, ARLINGTON, LOUDOUN all do too if they want to pull from a larger radius. Picking on a specific club for commuting distance is completely moronic.

You haven’t a clue and clearly haven’t driven these commutes from your answer. Talk about dumbest post of the year.

Also, we aren’t talking Tyson’s to TSJ commute, rather Rockville or Loudoun to TSJ. if I’m in Tyson’s, why not walk over to DA practice with my star and get recruited by the EXACT SAME schools based on her talent level??

Enjoy paying your $22 a day or 1.5hr commute to Springfield

Why do you care what/how people want to do or how far they drive anyhow? It’s their life and they probably want to support their DC’s dreams, etc.

Current MU player or outside recruit? Different timelines.

Call and ask the coaches about your specific player is your best action.

Amazing that with FCV and MU having their own issues and uncertainties (STJ takeover/Springfield commute versus post-Wash Spirit/new org issues), they continue to want to call each other out like elementary school kids on the playground. You're open display of wackiness on this public forum is not helping your clubs in any way.

As a parent of a kid who wants to play in college, the arguments you speak of above do nothing to sway me against either of these options. If you want to play in college, either of these clubs or the other DA and ECNL area clubs are fantastic choices. If you let DCUM blind you to that fact, then you are lost.

Unfortunately, this is true (at least for ANY good D1 school with a reputable soccer program). Pick your poison! All of the ECNL and DA teams are constantly trashed on this forum, so it's defeating since we don't have time to siphon through the fact from fiction. Is Metro United any good? Will FCV move their club to Springfield? Is BRYC really that bad of a club?

Is anyone really HAPPY with their child's soccer league anymore?

People need confirmation of their choice. So they'll either bash another program to raise theirs or they will just brag about their program. The reality is, if your kid is good and wants to play in college all of the clubs can get you there. Everything else is just club self serving noise.

An email from MU a few days ago:

“Parents and Players,

I want to thank everyone for taking the time to come out to our ID sessions or our training sessions over the past few months.

To update everyone on this process, we are still in the process of evaluating players for next year and no offers have been sent at this time. We will begin sending them this month and continue through June as we complete our rosters.”

Anyone want to speculate why it would take up to June?

It also said offers are going out this month? Top candidates will get offers starting now. Seems easy enough to understand to me.

I think most clubs leave a space open in case the next Mallory Pugh shows up at tryouts.
