Cherry picked? Isn't that the point of try outs? To pick the best players for a top team? Or was I mistaken the whole time? Did these coaches put a gun to the parents head and forced them to switch? Or did parents voluntarily switch to follow what THEY feel is a good choice for the child? If LMV is good I doubt they should worry if they have been doing things right then parents would stay and not flock. But no you're right everyone is bashing Lmv right and we're all bad people for leaving and so weak minded to being tricked to leave such a prestigious club. |
| read what i wrote before overreacting. Im not talking about the kids. I'm talking about the coaches cherry picking the best teams. |
...to poach and take over to SYC while bad mouthing LMV. As if those teams wouldn't continue excelling or doing well without them. Guess what, they coached great teams with great raw talent. They didn't coach good teams and make them great. I just don't think its ethical to talk entire teams into leaving because of a desire to destroy another club. If you want to walk away, walk away. Cool. But why be so nasty about? Why bad mouthing the club you are leaving? Why poaching? You want to leave, leave. Be an adult, be professional but that is not what has happened and kids hear about it. Bad example, bad sportsmanship. |
He's not a Common folk for sure, he's also at the LMVSC thread bashing the coaches that will be leaving (on their own) at the end of the season for SYC. He's part of the LMVSC committee too. You're not fooling anyone Sr.! Btw, Not everyone at "LMV" will be going to SYC but more than 100 families from different levels will be leaving the club. That alone speaks volumes! |
Good for both clubs, it happened, tryouts are here, build your teams, move on. There is no going back it's done. |
| From what I could tell, seemed like great turnout at tryouts. For the younger age groups, there were plenty of coaches watching the kids. Not sure how they can tell who to pick based on a tryout. For a U9 kid, do they make an offer for a specific team or wait until the kids accept offers and start practicing? |
| Business is business. Coaches poach kids because better kids let them win and get a better record which makes others want to play there. Hence more coaching fee revenue. Add to that the ego of many coaches that yearn for their old playing days and still have that competitive fire and you get this type of behavior. Many parents are the same way and treat their kids as an extension of their former glory. If you can find a coach that actually loves teaching kids how to play and at the same time have a group of kids to play with, then you’ve found a great place to stay. |

They should tell you what team your child was selected for (blue/orange/etc).
There were a lot if kids! And def heard a new SYC coach signing up his 2013 kid to try out for U9... |
| To all the LMVS families WELCOME! WELCOME TO SYC! good turn out |
Um thanks? |
| Why are you so obsessed with LMV? Just have your try out, do your thing and if you’re doing well, you’ll get what you deserve. Jesus... |
Are you kidding me? This is a looser LMVSC statement, you guys are the worse. Just kidding! |
Este left LMVSC and joined SYC, reason unknown, but you can only imagine it has to do with Lula. Pepe and Tupy decided to the same and join Este in the Fall. Lee tells Lula, "if you give me a job, I'll bring the best SYC coaches, my old team and a couple others. I also promise that together we will destroy SYC." Insert evil laugh here. SYC looses a bunch of coaches. SYC starts hiring again. Bunch of LMVSC coaches as well as others commit to SYC for the Fall. I think that's about it. |
Not at SYC, the point of tryouts was to pick a couple of good players that would play with the managers, coaches, etc. kids in the top team. |
Are we talking about Lee again? |
