Two kids shot on 13th and Emerson. Two weeks ago kids were shot at John Lewis ES. Crime has gotten bad in Ward 4. This is why Ward 4 residents are upset!

How about a a detailed plan about steps she is taking to solve the problem? How about addressing the problem with Petra slumlord buildings on 13th street, a major hot spot of crime. Residents have been trying to engage JLG for years to solve the problem. Maybe she is trying but whatever she is not making progress. Either she WON"T or she CAN't, both of which make me question how effective she will be as a mayor given her track record in Ward 4.

How about: she can as Mayor. Councilmembers have a staff of what, about a dozen? And limited authority to legislation and budgets. The mayor has a lot more power at their disposal.

Do you really think that McDuffie is going to crack down on Petra and it's kind? He's literally getting donations from the CEO of the company funding Petra. And he's running as a continuation of Bowser who has done NOTHING about the problem.

Speaking of... why are you and your buddies only attacking CM Lewis George but never Mayor Bowser?

Because Mayor Bowser isn't running for reelection. Because Mayor Bowser didn't support defunding the police. Because Mayor Bowser is trying to reduce youth violence. Fighting crime is not JLG's strength, even in her own Ward. Sure, she will have a larger staff, but she will be in charge of the entire city, not just Ward 4.

And I am sure JLG has been getting donations from lots of shady developers as well. I am certain Robert White has given how he has obstructed any meaningful action against slum lords. I have lost faith in all politicians but JLG is the candidate I at least know because I live in Ward 4.

JLG fundamentally sees from the perspective of those committing crime/using drugs/not paying rent, and doesn't ever speak from the perspective of law-abiding citizens.

Maybe she "could" as Mayor, but I don't think she "would". I am not the PP who has been trying to get the slum lord thing addressed, but a different PP in Ward 4 who has reached out to JLG's office on crime-related things, and I can tell you she does. not. care. She thinks if you want less crime you are somehow racist and mean. That's her actual perspective and I don't think when she gets elected to Mayor (which I think, unfortunately, is likely to happen), she's going to rip off her mask and go Hahahahaha, contrary to everything I have done as a Councilmember, now that I'm Mayor I actually do want to fight crime!

Janeese was quite effective at teaming with law enforcement on Kennedy St including federal (FBI?) as well as diversion for people who didn't need to be locked up. That area is much better than 10nyears ago. Your talking points about "weak on crime" aren't more true just because they're repeated a bunch.

Why are you sure about JLG getting money from shady developers? It's public information - give us some examples. McDuffie literally had a maxed out donation from the CEO of the company financing Petra.

Just because someone was a prosecutor does not mean that they are actually interested in getting justice for victims and preventing violent offenders from being back on the street committing more crime. See, for example, the LA DA who was actually recalled for being soft on crime. Some prosecutors would be better suited for being defense attorneys.

Alternatively, Bowser could do that with regular MPD so they are actually accountable to us unlike National Guard or ICE.
