Good game, don't take as a slight, but another that needs a few years to develop. IMHO you do these freshmen girls a disservice by prematurely comparing to your senior. The senior is clearly levels above in technique, IQ, and athleticsm. But we get why you're trying to insert their name, fyi her chute is not til next yr. Suggest create a highlight film too. |
Haha good point. Teenage girls do NOT say rockstar. |
Disservice how? Because she is going to have to carry the unbearable weight of expectation of a handful of anonymous mom bloggers? |
Did you come from the grass fairy forum? I mean soccer forum? You are too dumb to even respond to. |
By your response and sarcasm, it's easy to tell you're not part of the top clubs in the region but let me try and help anyway. If you were, they'd advise you to hold off on trying to start the recruiting chute too early for your child and rather focus on her game and academics. Coaches (including this forum that have coaches and scouts taking a peek) have very limited resources and time, so you want to maximize the time and exposure when they're actually looking at your child. If you do it too early, it can have a negative effect, whether or not they look at her again. In this instance, you're trying to elevate a '29 to a known and established '26. Not a fair comparison. It was easy to look at the game and see the difference. I'm actually a Madison fan and rooting for them to beat BF. LOL I think they have the strongest '29 class, but the two who were brought up are not ready. I can argue that the other '29 is a better prospect, but all are not ready, which is a good thing. Let them mature, their time will come. Best of luck to you...take it or leave it, don't matter to me! |
Recruiting chute? Not OP, but this was an informal discussion on a parent blog about who is having a good year. Do you think college coaches are making recruiting decisions based on DC Urban Moms? Are people not allowed to say nice things about underclassmen? Also, OP said both players are great and fun to watch. The only person on here who has been negative about any of the girls is you, who have now made two separate posts with unfavorable comparisons and disparaging comments about a player who I assume is on your own daughter's team. |
| Knock yourself out talking about your kid. BUT don't get your feelings hurt when they don't agree with you |
As you may know some of the most competitive games have already been played this season so it is never too early! Not to say that teams won’t get better come May and June. If you have been around HS lax in this area there are a few front runners every season. My list.. Madison senior attacker BF goalie (#11 a close 2nd) Robinson senior middy Not sure of anyone else that is POY material at this point in the season. I will not be surprised if one of the 3 is our state POY this season. All 3 have proved themselves so far and are the leaders of their teams. A lot of this also depends on the outcomes for their teams. Almost every year the POY (district, region, state) all come from the strongest teams. Have been following lax in the area for a long time and don’t recall a freshman getting POY. I also don’t see the list getting much bigger. Just my opinion! |

Are any games being played? Any interesting scores.
POY conversations are just way too early. There is a Cleveland rookie who is way better than Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani so far too. |
I agree with this. Front runners and looks like the best 3 teams right now and they're top players. I look forward to the dark horse team that surprises, takes their district and make some noise. There will also be players that take that leap to the next level. |
| I agree about players from one of these teams since they will be some of the strongest teams but I think with 2-3 games it’s difficult to pull out specific players this early since each of these 3 teams is deep. Battlefield has strong middies, Robinson has strong attack and mid and Madison has other strong attack and mid as well. |
