Has anyone heard about the new policy in place for all high school sports (boys & girls) that during the off season schools can only play up to 10 games? This is going to impact Fallball, Winter League, 7v7s, etc.

This new policy is being pushed by travel and club teams. By limiting the # of games for HS school team, it makes the school team less important and tries to increase the importance of playing travel/club. They need to squeeze more money out of the suckers.... I mean parents.

Does anyone have anymore info regarding off season games. Woodson fall league is starting later and only a 3 game schedule because of this new rule.

Has the new rule officially passed?

Another step towards the move towards the Maryland pay to play BS.

Stop being douche bags. This has to do with kids over committing and sticking with in season sports and not feeling they have to do it all especially when they are in season.

Lighten up, Francis.

A once a week game on a day where no practice is allowed might take away from field hockey or some other fall sport?
Your daughter doesn't want to hang around and goof around with her spring team? Cool, who would care.

Yeap and to add to the last part, other girls might want to hang around, have fun and goof around to get ready for spring and shouldn't they have the option even if your daughter doesn't?

and what about the girls who don't do a fall sport? Shouldn't they have the option to play?

Does this rule apply to winter ball (St, James) with their HS team?

Pretty crappy to take away options for the girls because a few might not want to play or because of other fall sports.

So Woodson has officially cancelled fall league because of new rule and lack of interest. Yet every head coach I know has not been made aware of this new rule including myself. What is the exact rule? Anybody?

How is the boys side getting around this new rule with VEL being run plus Madlax running a new HS Fall elite league that includes a few NOVA publics?

DP - maybe for winter league games schools could just put together non-affiliated teams (at least that's my hope). The practice and extra reps are definitely great for the kids that don't play all the time.

This impacts boys and girls high school sports. Teams can only participate at a max of 10 game days during off season. So that includes fall ball, indoor league, 7v7s, etc. it seems to have a negative impact to these events as schools will have to pick and choose which off season league they want to join. Heard this from a coach.

VHSL search doesn't provide an obvious spelling out of this. Anybody that can provide a link would be appreciated.
