Well, maybe you are right. But, it ain't going to happen. They've published the job opening. They'll get a bunch of applicants mostly current assistants of HCs of smaller programs. They'll interview a sub-set of applicants. They'll select the one who is easiest to sell as qualified. They are fixing a leak in a pipe in the basement, not redesigning the plumbing system. |
Looks like Kubic has strong opinions. |
Not sure why the hate towards kubik?
He is revered by his former players from the 90s and 2000s. |
You are mis-interpreting. Very few don’t like MK. Some may be disappointed he has joined the Evil Empire. If he were to apply for the GP job, he’d be the immediate front runner almost certainly get the job. He has insight into Prep and the Prep community that no one else has. But no one is mad at him for not doing this. He’s got his reasons and people respect that. |
I agree, the Hilgardner troll was amazing. Well done. Had most of us on the edge of our seats haha. |
Maybe Kubik IS the front runner. How does anyone know that he is not? |
Hilgardner troll - give us another good one. Out do yourself. |
First 2 turned GP down. Severns at dc express might be next. |
Please stop with the silliness. Job was just posted on 7/31. They are still receiving applications. At a point in time they’ll review them and then offer interviews to some. No one has been turned down. You had your fun with the Hilgartner spoof. Now your schtick is getting stale. |
Sorry, a college coach turned them down and Hilgartner was offered and politely said no. |
And apparently Mike Kubik has thrown his resume into the mix? |
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Funny at first, but becoming pathetic. |
You all act as though Kubik is at Landon only because he can’t be at Prep. Did something historically happen to make people think that or can you just not fathom that he wouldn’t be beating down the doors to work at Prep?? |
It's not "can't" it's doesn't "want." Left his position at GP years ago because he no longer wanted to work there. Still doesn't. Btw - they aren't offering him a position and they are now taking applications because their first 2 choices turned them down. |
You must be new around these parts since you appear not to be aware of the longtime antipathy between the two schools. Things have improved, I'm told. But Kubik (GP '87 and longtime GP coach and MD teacher) would be well aware of the history and how many people feel (at least on the GP side). And as a result, many GP people are surprised he would coach and now work there. It has nothing to do with the relative strengths of the lacrosse program or even either school as places to work. |
