Kubik has zero desire to be back at Prep.

Hopefully the search process brings some good candidates and a new HC can be named by Labor Day.

How do you know what Kubik would do or wants to do?

Thirty days from publishing the opening to naming a new coach? They probably won’t finish receiving applications until Labor Day.

I have no idea what he wants to do or will do.

But if he were to apply for and get the job at Prep it might be because it's his Alma Mater and he went there on a scholarship? He knows hundreds of people who are connected to the school based upon working there as a coach and at Prep feeder school, Mater Dei.

Hysterical to think coaches and teachers like Kubik would "apply." Guys like him are asked, they don't go looking on their own.

It's a committee. It will take 10-11 interviews now that they are taking applications.

Given the circumstances of the previous coach's dismissal (if that what it was), expect the GP Administrators to move carefully. A methodical process will help calm the restless stakeholders, at least at first.

It will also greatly increase the number of fingerprints on the decision in case things don't work out. (It was a committee decision.)

I think they'll continue to receive applications until Labor Day. Then they have to pare down the list, make invitations for interviews, conduct them and debate the finalists. Then they have to do the hiring.

I'd bet on an October announcement.

Unless they identify a clearly superior candidate among the applicants. In that case it could move quickly. (There is a very low probability this would happen)

Why not Giblin on an interim basis while the current JV coach, who clearly has the pedigree and is I well liked by the students and parents, gets some more seasoning. 5 year deal.

The boarders could be at risk. The WI kid is staying but don't know about the 2 GA kids.

I heard a theory that the school waited till the end of the July to make the change so less kids would leave. Essentially, not enough time to apply to a reputable school after August 1.

The timing of pushing Urick out is a real head shaker. The season ended on May 10th, why wouldn't have Prep admin cut ties at the end of May vs wait another 2 months?

It does make you wonder and I'm sure some families are looking to transfer out.

If the coaching change brings on some initial pain for long term gain...then so be it. Happens all the time at all levels of sports.
