GFR Falling apart?

That’s like saying we shouldn’t pay teachers - volunteers teaching the content should be sufficient . Maybe your job could also be managed by volunteers? Would you like to give up your salary and do your job for free?

Has anyone seen this petition that’s calling for transparency from the club? Feel like this could be a chance to push for the information we’ve been trying to have from the beginning.

It's already about as transparent as it gets, they are a 501(c)3, you can look up how they distribute the money. The spending for 2024 will be available for everyone to see later this year.

Ironic that a petition calling for greater transparency is from an anonymous “concerned parent.”

(I write this as a GFR travel parent who couldn’t care less about all of this. From discussion, most other parents on our kids’ teams feel the same way.)

I’ve heard that entire teams are leaving next year. Is there any truth to that?

You are correct on everything except the coaches getting paid. They should get paid. You did leave out driving in rush hour in RTO traffic around the dmv for the “right fit” or the new hot shot trainer. My advice is you have the right idea and don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. Run don’t walk. It’s a vortex almost matrix-like and most don’t know or can’t when to unplug from it.

My DD at GFR is in the most affected age range and while a handful of u10 to u13 girls have left (understandably given the instability), I’m skeptical that there will be significant losses, like whole teams, leaving.

I suspect those are troll posts.

From my talks with other parents most are happy with the restoration of the prior regime and coaching staff. With the absence of any information justifying the abrupt regime change and disruption, most folks seem skeptical it was warranted and, while not happy about the month of chaos, look forward to more stability going forward.

11/17 from my DC’s team are leaving. Yours is the troll post.

Do they have just two teams I. Each age group now?

Two kids at GFR in different ages groups. Neither has major upsets to the roster.
