I hadn't picked up on that coldness until you mentioned it but I totally see it now. She’s kind of like a crocodile, if she decides you’re not food (safety), it’s like you no longer exist to her. I’m also realizing I know more about the men’s families than Joan’s. Family is everything but I only talk about my deceased husband? I’m sure Joan believes that family is everything to her, but maybe she’s lacking in introspection there. |
I imagine her children don't want her to talk about them, so she doesn't. I think I read somewhere that her son was not at all supportive of this. |
And yet he seems like one of the more sincere ones. The rest don’t seem genuinely into Joan at all. |
Agree. I looked up her age as I was watching- as it occurred to me that Trista was being brought in as the older 'expert', but in this case she was younger- but not by much. And somehow the contrast just made Joan seem very very naive and inexperienced. |
Absolutely agree that an ER doc would have had plenty of opportunities to date/find love. As a nurse, I feel like he's THAT MD. The kind of guy you talk/joke with only enough to get by, because you feel like he's lonely/he needs to feel adored/listened to- yet he still fixates on you because you gave attention to his non-funny jokes and observations and now he won't leave you alone so your coworkers now have to chronically rescue you with fake client needs so that you can get away from him. We haven't seen his a-type side- like Chock or Cap'n Kim but I assure you it wouldn't be pleasant. Agree that Chock is trying to make a sale. Jordan - couldn't tell you a thing about him/boring. Pascale - not a good match for anyone wanting to feel 'safe'. He's a twerp. At this point I am also realizing that Joan is one of those 'prim and propper' kind of energy people... really does not give out a sexy vibe. Had not noticed it before as I guess I am ageist but she doesn't really seem to have mojo- not sure how much the others are looking for that but it will definitely be a problem for Pascale Pepe le Pew. |
I agree with this. I think her appeal is that she's thin and blonde. |
This is what they say. Give them a line up of 60-something women and have them pick out who is most attractive and another story will emerge. |
Of course they did. You know this is tv, right? |
She's "blonde." That is hair coloring and extensions. Bad extensions, to boot. |
I promise you that it would not be Joan unless she shows herself to be a brilliant dark horse. DH and DS are both brainy PhDs in difficult fields. So far her conversation has not exactly been riveting … the plastic fantastic enhancements would be seen as cons not pros by DH and DS. That said, I hope that Joan finds someone who works for her. Good for her for putting herself out there as it must be excruciating. |
You think this is some kind of flex? |
Not at all - but PP mistakenly insisted my DH and DS would secretly prefer women who are attractive thanks to artificial Enhancements I don’t think that they are unusual in finding female brains and creativity more attractive than the aging Barbie aesthetic … That said I am rooting for Joan and hope she relaxes and shows more of her genuine personality - it must be very intimidating to know what to reveal and what not on such a show. |
I know plenty of men who have seen the women on Gerry’s season, and they all prefer Faith and Leslie. |
I don’t think men find her type of thin atttactive . She’s straight up and down except for the breast implants. She’s not curvy. Men like curves. But I guess it’s better than being overweight and flabby. |
PP. I was replying to this quote. |
