I don’t think Diana would still be alive today, even if the car crash hasn’t happened.

She probably would be alive if Charles and Camilla were not adulterous people. Still, would have been married with proper protection and drivers.

Being publicly cheated on is horrendous, but Diana had plenty of problems.

Her insecurities were from her husband.

Not really. She had a terrible childhood.

DP. It has to be quite a woman who doesn’t feel more insecure by their husband cheating.

The only royal I can hate on is Andrew and I’m sure even he is in pain right now.

He and his “wife” made Diane’s life miserable and Andrew Parker Bowles as well as all their children. They are two selfish people. They don’t deserve any respect.

“Diane” wasn’t any better. She was just younger and comparatively attractive.
Like it or not, Charles and Camilla are married. You don’t get to pretend they aren’t because you don’t like them.

Everyone knows and most people don't care.

She was also not at the Diana statue unveiling. Maybe pass that because it’s public but why wouldn’t you be with your husband with his grandmother dying? Sophie and Camilla were there.

Because the Queen was already dead and they had just dropped the children off for the first day of school. She needed to be there to pick them up and be with them for all of the stuff that is about to follow. With the exception of William and Harry - who were/were now about to be the children of a King — no other grandchildren or great-grandchildren were there. It’s not nefarious - this is part of a very-long planned out national event which it sounds like moved very quickly and didn’t have as much notice as people had presumed would happen.

Sophie and Edward also have minor children. If they were already dropped off that makes even less sense as seems super easy to have Nanny Maria pick them up. It’s not like his grandmother dies every day seems kind of unhealthy to decline to be supportive for even one day for a school run. Either she didn’t care to go or he didn’t want her there.

What the hell is wrong with you people who think young children should be on a death watch of their Grandma? Have any of you actually sat in a room watching and waiting for someone to die? Why on earth would want to put a child through that? You are a complete idiot if you think those kids should have been there to witness it.

I wonder...will they ever disclose her actual cause of death?

I’m guessing congested heart failure.

Being 96 years old.

This.
Have some of you never been around very elderly people? My grandmother and her sisters all lived well into their 90s with remarkably few health problems...and they all ended up with thin skin that was very easily bruised and appeared just like the bruising on the Queen's hand.
My grandmother and her sisters all passed peacefully in their sleep, although we suspect one of them had a stroke immediately prior to death. I assume the same or similar happened here.

Seriously. The kids stay in school and continue on.

Or there were already plans and protocols in place that involved the Queen's children and the children of the incoming Monarch.

All the family drama aside, I can’t help but feel a bit sad about the queen’s passing. I thought the quote from Boris Johnson, of all people!, was on point:

“This is our country's saddest day. In the hearts of every
one of us there is an ache at the passing of our Queen,
a deep and personal sense of loss - far more intense,
perhaps, than we expected.”

She wasn't even their grandmother. She was their great-grandmother.

And to the PP comparing them to Sophie and Edward's minor children - Louise and James ARE the queens grandchildren. Its not apples to apples.

+1. I doubt that Kate had any personal choice in the events of the day.

Edward’s kids are 15 and 19. I would think both would find their own way to school.

She probably would be alive if Charles and Camilla were not adulterous people. Still, would have been married with proper protection and drivers.

Not really. She had a terrible childhood.

DP. It has to be quite a woman who doesn’t feel more insecure by their husband cheating.

Especially on the world’s stage.

How old was she when she got married to Charles? How old was he?

Yep-correct. James is the same generation as William and Harry. When Phillip died, James was there, but none of the great-grandkids were there.
