New Additions to Leagues Check Up (ECNL & GA)

I am sorry but I just don't understand the ga's thinking. you try to tout yourself as an elite league, top girls league in the nation. clubs promote it as the best league in the country and then your additions are really bad clubs. even the perception is just off with these new teams. its getting too watered down.

All clubs suck in the Northwest and they're isolated kind of like Atlanta but its even farther for them to play higher level competition. GA is just adding clubs to make sure theres a Northwest local league for clubs to play in.

Honestly GA and ECNL being seperate leagues in the Pac North just makes everyone worse and soccer more expensive.

So, my question is how many clubs will the GA add in this area. If just this one or maybe one more, it seems also like GA just gave parents/kids disappointed with the move to RL a landing spot. Could be some stacked teams formed now. That'd be kinda funny since it's a total ECNL move of old.

This is a great point. It seems like a counter, move to the RL league formation, and one that could prove to be brilliant if the stacked SCA teams form. Im sure there are some players on those soon to be RL teams teams who want a higher level of competition than what RL can offer.

Yeah, the criticism on Talking Soccer in Oregon is how this RL thing is just basically a new state league but even more isolated. Others there think it's a brief stepping stone back to main ECNL.

A brief stepping stone for probably one RL team to be promoted in 27-28 to ECNL. So their choice in Portland is to fight it out hunger games style in RL for the chance to get promoted to ECNL… or go with the GA platform with a young club that has promise. It’ll be interesting to see how it turns out.

Those teams will continue to struggle. Doesn’t matter the league. They won’t be winning anytime soon…

...said no one ever. We are in GA now and almost every other week someone from an RL team comes out to practice for a tryout. The reverse is not true at all.

Tell that to all the kids on RL who never get even considered for their clubs ECNL team.

That all you got? ECNL just might be overplaying its hand, growing RL like it is. It'll actually help GA remain exclusive.

Doesn't matter the "bonnets" is ridiculously dumb.

ECNL hats actually exist and you see parents wearing them at events. So pathetic.

They need something to counter the hats put-down. The problem is parents don't wear the gear, really. The kids do, though (not bonnets, of course). Mostly hoodies that look cool.

Yes its normal to wear gear from the club that your kid plays on.

Its weird to wear the gear of the league your kid plays in.

Have you ever seen someone wear a NFL hat? How about a NWSL hat? This is the issue its also why the ECNL hat burn stings so much. You have to remember that 90% of the ECNL teams are the same as GA team. If they wore something showing which ECNL club their kid played on often people would laugh at them. So its better to hide behind the anonymity of an ECNL hat.

I’ve seen people wear the WNBA symbol sweatshirts and hats.

with the 3 additions to ga in the last 2 months, the ga is slamming the door on the ecnl. the 2 aspire teams and fa are gonna kill it in ga and ecnl is gonna regret not offering them a spot. definitely will be champion cup clubs in 2 years

15 minutes in what? A helicopter? Its more like 30 minutes with no traffic. STA is more like 15 minutes to Matchfit. But in general, there is so much overlap in area they draw from, none of that really matters. All of those clubs mainly draw kids from 45m to 1hr east as it is.
