It is not really Dr. Andersen's fault though Nothing gets done because the far left majority is in lockstep. |
It’s possible the Belvedere families didn’t realize they were being moved. The slides from the December meeting discuss Beech Tree becoming a split feeder, but turning Belvedere into a split feeder is not stated (though can be inferred.) The December presentation also has Belvedere fully remain at Justice. The recommendation to send them to Annandale was introduced with the January 8 recommendation. Beech Tree has slightly more notice to mobilize. |
My understanding is she voted against the boundary policy change because it failed to address grandfathering. And that was prescient, because they ended up coming back later and amending the policy to do just that. I don’t know what your beef is with her, but she works harder than any other SB member. |
Maybe they pull Belvedere out, too, and just move the Mason Crest kids to eliminate that split feeder. If they move the Belvedere kids to Holmes, they’re better off feeding to Annandale than Justice. |
It’s typical to see some older parents who benefit from the system push for changes once their kids are safe. |
The far-left majority doesn’t get anything done. They just insist that members put lipstick on their pig to protect their party brand. If you don’t do that, then you get ostracized by the majority and the larger FCDC leadership. It’s turned into a very corrupt system. |
I mean, Lewis and Edison are like 2 miles apart. Both are near the edge of their boundary. |
| Superintendent announced she is going to introduce a couple of amendments to her boundary proposal based on feedback on Saturday at the end of the CIP working session - oh the suspense. |
You mean this afternoon? |
Yes - going through 2 rounds (currently in round one) of border questions on the CIP and then she'll speak. |
Sorry meant 2 rounds of CIP board questions. |
Where was this announced ? |
They're at the point in the meeting now we're there about to get to it. They're taking a 5 minute break. |

This is what Reid said she will likely put forth as amendments to her original plan. She said she'll release Thursday. (This is my AI overview of her remarks):
- Proceed now with moving Walney Oaks (SPA 4420) from Franklin MS to Rocky Run MS. - Defer decisions on Rolling Valley ES split feeder to a new review, with potential relief recommendations due January 2027. - Defer Beech Tree ES moves tied to Glasgow MS relief; first implement the new Poe AAP center, then report back in January 2027 on Glasgow enrollment and demographics. - Set January 2027 reviews for: - Rolling Valley ES - Beech Tree ES - Lorton Station / Gunston / Halley / Laurel Hill area - Graham Greenway / Jefferson Village / Kingsley Commons area - Crossfield-to-Lee’s Corner 12-student move and related SPAs north of 395 aligned to Edison HS. - Cardinal Forest / Keene Mill boundary question remains under staff review and may or may not be amended depending on new analysis and further input. |

It’s all one big admission that they bit off more than they could chew. The elephants in the room went totally unaddressed and they walked back a lot of the smaller changes they did propose.
This is the nonsense you get when you leave it up to a bunch of left-wing activists to set boundary policy - chaos and incompetence in equal measure. |
