Ohio University in Athens Ohio and such a cute, student-centered downtown.

Agree on Madison.

I teach there. It’s gorgeous. Ignore the negative comments.

It is gorgeous! I was just there visiting my DC. I don’t know what the UVA bashers are talking about! Architectural digest has rated it number 11 in its list of most beautiful college campuses (W&M is #8). But what do they know, right?

Of course Georgetown is #13. Not sure about that one.

UVA
William and Mary
Virginia Tech
JMU
GMU
VCU
Mary Washington

William and Mary
UVA

Virginia Tech
Mary Washington

JMU

GMU
VCU

Mine would be:

W&M
UVA
Mary Washington

The environs of JMU and VT are nice, but the campuses are just okay. JMU has a highway going through it and VT has a lot of boring spaces

GMU --Some parts of GMU's campus are surprisingly lovely, others not
VCU -- Richmond has nice aspects, but VCU doesn't feel like it has a central campus

I would add CNU at same level as Mary Washington. Other than that I agree. I am not really familiar with the other campuses (ODU, Longwood, Radford, etc.)

I thought Amherst, Williams, Middlebury and Dartmouth were all lovely.

Yes, but you should also consider them in late Winter to figure out if they are an OK fit for you.

Agree and I went to Dartmouth. Made sure we did college visits with the children during the winter months.

There are some ugly cement shacks but overall, Berkeley is surprisingly beautiful.

Same could be said for UCLA. Some ugly buildings, but it mostly overcomes them.

What? Williams' campus might be a lot of things, but "most beautiful campus" is... a stretch.

Stanford was quite nice, although it has been a while since I've been there.
