The poor dupe/woman Renate - she actually signed a support letter for him. . . . but then recently learned K and his buddies bragged about her as a sexual conquest in their yearbook pages and called themselves "Renate alumni."

And now he claims he was just a big fan after he went on a date with her and had one kiss.

I honestly just don't understand how people can believe the garbage/lies that flow out of his mouth (recent Exhibit A Fox interview).

His house of cards is crumbling.

That article makes Georgetown Prep sound terrible.

That article makes Georgetown Prep sound like a misogynist racist place. Just about the only nice thing it says about Kavanaugh is that his yearbook picture didn’t contain positive references to the KKK unlike some of his classmates.

There aren't 51 votes against him either.

He will be confirmed. After the hearing, all but 1 or 2 republicans plus 3 red state democrats will put him over the finish line.

A lot of GOPers could do the right thing and vote against him inlcluding Flake, Corker, Nelson, Heitkamp, and several others. The whip count is not looking good right now.

I’m pretty sure this guy’s problems have given the red state Democrats enough cover to vote no. McCaskill already came out against him.

Flake and Corker will be yes. They were looking for covers and Thursday's hearing will give them the cover.

Joe Manchin will be a definite yes. He wants to be a senator more than his love for the Democratic Party. It's over. Kavanaugh will be the next SCJ.

And if he really was a virgin (but nonetheless a harrasser) until "many years" after college... wow. 27? 28? 29? Hilarious!

That wouldn't be that unusual for really smart people like Kavanaugh (he was really smart if he got into Yale as a non-athlete and then Yale Law)

He wasn't a nerd like Gorsuch. He was a jock, a frat boy.

He didn't need to say that, we didn't need to hear it. Except for Judge and Avenatti.

Why isn't one single person stepping up?

Slow on the uptake? There is a second accuser from high school who has apparently filed a complaint with mc police.

is there any crime with a SoL longer than 30 years except murder?

Regardless of the accusations — which I happen to believe...because BRETT — his stupidity when trying to defend himself should make him unfit as a GOP nominee. No wonder Mitch didn’t want him.

Agree. While watching the Fox interview, we were noting that he hardly sounds like a lawyer. Not even a judge. He had a hard time coming up with basic words. Strange.

Not surprising, PP - the man probably hasn't slept well in days.
And rightly so.

True. He's a highly intelligent and articulate man. Part of the Democrats' strategy is to harass someone with unfair attacks to the point it interferes with his ability to function well. It's what bullies do.

Sorry, not what I meant. I meant that he deserved this, and every other public and private excoriation that he receives from this situation. From his own writings, his own speeches, and those of his friends and friends/partners of friends, he is guilty. And that's before even mentioning what he's accused of by Dr. Ford and possibly others.

In Maryland? Yes. There's no statute of limitations on felony sexual assault.

I don’t understand how Beth Wilkinson and Alexandra Walsh can represent that piglet. I hope they enjoy the publicity because I will make damn sure my company never hires their firm for anything.

I was a frat boy too and there were people who graduated as virgins, including myself. It happens. Maybe (gasp) Kavanaugh wanted it to be with a special person?

He ought to have been questioned about his finances. Such a fluffy interview. He dodged most of the questions, repeating ad nauseum "I want a fair process..." rinse, repeat.

No, he did not come off as truthful. He came off as evasive. He didn't even answer the question as to whether or not he wanted an FBI investigation. His wife dodged that one completely, looking at her husband and he didn't answer the question.

I actually felt sorry for his wife. She seems brainwashed and sad. All her answers were so carefully rehearsed and completely empty.

This didn't help Kavanaugh at all.

I just rewatched the beginning because I only saw the end. He really is odd. I don’t know if he’s compartmentalizing or in a survivor mode (or both) but he didn’t even show any emotion to his wife. Not physical, nor did his face register any.

People! He's under incredible stress. Karma, you know. Not as much as he deserves, but a little part of it.

You haven’t seen any Manchin polls lately.

LOL at this. he was a kid going to drinking parties in the 80's. He didn't do anything different from the other boys and was probably less aggressive if he was virginal until well after college.

and the lying and and strutting and trash-talking about various girls who "gave it up" was just icing on the (douchebag's) cake.

Bad news for priests and Brett Kavanaugh.
