Confederate Battle Flag

Anonymous
About half the GOP candidates running when initially asked said its a states right issue. Then they changed their tune when Haley stuck her neck out and took action.

Some of you are tone deaf, play dumb, or just dont listen to things. The problem isnt that these candidates are racist. The problem is the pandering that is done to that minority who are or are just ignorant period. I get not trying to lose votes but are the votes of the ignorant and bigoted that much of a crucial voting block. Id like to think that this group of voters is small and seeing how their is so much wavering when it comes to issues like this, it seems like the opposite is the truth.

And that poll shows that people support removing the flag from government property AND support private business removing flag merchandise.

The results are also heavily influenced by race and education - if you are an uneducated white Southerner, you view the flag as a source of southern pride. No surprises there.

Ok...if you want to read all she has to say I will save you the search...I especially liked her pointing out there were NO RIOTS and people of all colors and creeds came together! She also points out where the confederate flag should never be displayed.

Actually, you'd better do some more reading, there have been several brawls at the SC Statehouse, with violence primarily instigated by confederate flag supporters.

There was no shortage of right wing outrage over businesses deciding to stop selling confederate merchandise, as though businesses should apparently be forced to sell things that they no longer agree with... not to mention, conservative outrage that people might boycott businesses that sell confederate merchandise - as though people should not be allowed to vote with their dollars.

Hilarious.

GOP candidates say it's a state's rights issue.

Nikki Haley, the governor of the STATE of SC, decides to take action.

GOP candidates then support the governor of the STATE'S decision.

Where did they change their tune again? Where is the wavering? Seems to me they are supporting the governor of a STATE because she exercise - wait for it - state's rights.

Totally agree - businesses should be able to decide what they do and do not sell, what kind of cakes they make and do not make... Oh, wait...

False attempt at equivalency there.

A wedding cake is a wedding cake no matter who it's for. And either a business bakes and sells wedding cakes, or they do not. Either a business sells Confederate merchandise or they do not. If the argument is "we bake and sell wedding cakes for person A but not for person B" then that is the problem. Stores certainly aren't out there saying "I won't sell Confederate merchandise to that guy but I *will* sell it to this other guy." As such, your attempt at using it for analogy isn't working.

Again, a wedding cake is a wedding cake. Only difference is maybe there's two bride cake toppers or two groom cake toppers, but these days, most times people don't even use those, they might use the couple's monograms, flowers, or other decorative cake toppers instead of figures. What difference should it make to the baker? It's really no different It's not as though Christian bakeries were ever being asked to actually make objectionable cakes, like gigantic pink penis cakes with spooge made out of frosting for any weddings, for crying out loud. If they ever were, it was only to troll them after the fact, just like the jackass ordering the ISIS cake did.

There you go with that again...Jeb Bush removed it 14 years ago...how many governors...of either party...has done anything about the battle flag..it wasn't an official Confederate flag...or any other Confederate flag....in the last 15 years?

That comment about brawls was referring to the claim that there were no riots and that people of all colors and creeds coming together. That is soooooo false. It's 99.995% Southern whites who are coming to the defense of the Confederate flag, and it is the Confederate Flag supporters who have been the first to start physically attacking and using violence against others.

I guess we are wondering why you can still buy music and other items using the N word when the confederate flag is SO SO SO offensive....

And we're also wondering how you plan to dismantle history - will you blow it up like ISIS?

Really? Is that what they were doing? Seems to me there was no wavering and now you are simply making stuff up. Have at it
