Obama used a tent once. Somehow, everyone has managed, and no one needs a state dinner with 1,000 people. |
There will be no extra bread ration for you this week, comrade. Your script expressly states to finish all ballroom posts by emphasizing that our great, stable-minded president has hosted more state dinners than any other president in history because of his stamina and that world leaders tout his dinners bigly as most beautiful that make leftist terrorists weep more than diarrhea videos. You will be reported to your regional leader for retraining. |
| How much will Trump be selling memberships for? |
| I feel like the images of tge torn down east wibg will be a tipping point even for folks not paying attention, thosecwhondint know about the 230 million or the 40 million to argintina or the crypto currency bribes. The images are shocking. |
Don't think most people care. Good god, people. This is a minor wing of the White House. It's not historic, built mostly in the late 40s when the WH was completely gutted and rebuilt and the wings added. There is actually very little left that is historic. I have a book on the history of the WH and it shows the Residence completely hollow inside. Plenty of presidents have built and added and removed stuff at the WH. |
Go look at some websites and news sources outside your bubble. It’s not even being reported, or if it is, very low on the page and like it’s nbd. |
This is a real bad take. Yeesh. I am embarrassed for you. |
You’re a simp. That was more than 80 years ago and the structure was created before then. It was historic and Jackie Kennedy took great pains to restore it with American antique furnishings, artifacts, and art. There is a process for historic renovation in this city. If he’d gone through proper channels, it likely would have garnered bipartisan support. |
Oy, Truman gutted the white house because it hadn't been renovated since it was built. Presidents have made adjustments to the living quarters, but the "public" spaces have always belonged to the country. Yes, Nixon converted a pool that FDR used to get exercise, to a bowling alley - it later became the press gallery. But no one - NO ONE - has wreaked the demolition on the white house like this. Truman went through a review and permit process. It took the white house 7 years to get the higher fences reviewed and installed. And you think this is ok, to just demolish a historic (yes, 75 years ago is considered historic) addition to the white house? |
What constitutes a major wing of the white house? there are only two wings. |
MAGA thinks it’s minor because it housed the First Lady’s offices and we know women are second-class citizens in this admin. |
No one ever talked about the East Wing till now as it is unremarkable office space. It is not the Residence or the West Wing. It was substantially rebuilt in the 40s with new stories added to it, which makes it younger than my house. And further substantial remodeling also occurred. I don't particularly care that it's being replaced with a new ballroom. It's not special in my book and I am a lover of historic architecture and preservation, but also realistic. You're just upset because it's Trump doing it. |

That seems way out of scale for the White House. But if it's horrible I'm too big and too ugly and too tacky, it can be removed and redone In the future. The ugly corruption that is part of this is going to be harder to fix. |
It’s clear that people have ZERO idea about the White House. The East Wing is where most people entered for events and was used for events. My god. |
Yep, people are saying this |
