When we left there are definitely things we miss. The location of the fields was great. The quality of the fields were great. Now we drive significantly farther away and practices are much later. That's about all we miss. However having a coach who wants to develop players makes the longer drives and late weekdays worth it. |
Agreed. Glad we left! Anyone know how many Valor girls were selected to be part of NVA? |
NVA should be a 50/50 split between valor and loudoun right? |
Apparently that's because they steal County turf fields permitted to the CYA rec league and send the rec kids to practice in dog poop. |
Lol.. No 90% Loudoun.. 10% cherry picked from other ECNL clubs. If you want ECNL go to loudoun travel. Ellis needs to fix this. |
None? |
It's so sh!tty that they do that. |
SYA and CYA have whole programs in their rec leagues designed to funnel as many little kids into Valor as possible (its about quantity not quality).
The people who run CYA rec soccer are cozy with the guys who run Valor and don't really care about the quality of their rec programs as long as the rec programs are making money. The guys who are paid to run CYA rec soccer programs also all double-dip as paid Valor employees/coaches. They are also in charge of taking the County fields permitted to CYA and letting Valor use the best fields. Why do you think CYA lets Valor practice on the nice fields the county gives them for rec teams to use but puts their minority kid rec teams to practice in dog poop? $$$$$ |
I would hope at least one got on the team. I know several girls got invited to id sessions from valor. I would also hope if no girls got on the NVA team from valor that they would stop this silly alliance because there is no benefit to valor kids. |
HAHAHA ummm no. The alliance is all for show. Look at us. If you give us 3k per kid there is a tiny chance your kid might have a spot on the NVA team. Oh wait, we aren't actually planning on developing your child so they would be good enough to make the team. But please give us the 3k. |
Perhaps girls turned down an offer? |
+1 We will start looking this spring. |
Its just a marketing scam. Maybe NVA takes one Valor kid per team, maybe. |
Nope.. The Valor coaches get to select some auto invites to IDs. The NVA coaches already know the kids they are interested by word of mouth. Unless your kid does some messi level crap, they generally they are from other ECNL clubs. There is only one girl I know of that has an open offer. No boys that i know of. Again Ellis needs to fix this. It’s not an alliance. |
Why would NVA take a kid from Valor that has not been properly trained/developed when they can get a better player from Loudoun or any other club? Don’t we want the ECNL teams to be the top players? They shouldn’t have to take a lesser skilled player because of a so called alliance. The alliance is a pathway to ECNL and that’s something parents want to hear. Marketing, plain and simple. But if a player isn’t good good enough then why put them there? |
