Nah. Broke out my application for CCP. TX is tame compared to the daily crap in DC |
| Put a castle doctrine/stand your ground as the next DC local elections Prop — see what happens. Enjoy the fireworks! You earned them. |

Do you not reasonably believe this in DC?
“However, if you reasonably believe that an intruder is entering your home or business with the intent to commit a felony (such as murder, rape, robbery or burglary) or seriously harm any of its occupants, you may use deadly force.” We should add “and car”. And then make sure these are still felonies and not ANC-award-winning activities |
A street robbery is far more likely than a home invasion. |
Speaking of Singapore, flogging juvenile criminals who carjack and commit certain other violent crimes would be a strong deterrent that need not involve a lengthy prison sentence. |
Please explain how it helps to arrest people who are only going to be released? Then repeat. |
Because that's their role in the system. Prosecution is someone else's. If the cops don't arrest then it's their fault. If the prosecutors don't prosecute then it's their fault. But the arrest has to happen first. |
It’s not 80 year old Vietnam vets that are carjacking and shooting people in the head. Heard the same radio show; Remove the teens from this environment is the only answer. The city is already spending 115 million dollars per year on services! Yet it doesn’t help! |
I don’t think the flogging is the deterrent. They execute drug dealers. |
Research has shown that removing teens from their support systems only makes the problem worse. |
Do they still have drug dealers? If so, it's not a deterrent. |
