I’m amazed at how posters seem to be embracing this obviously very troubled, disturbed and disordered person. She has to be in what her late 30s and she’s been caught on camera picking a fight with a bunch of teens. Have some dignity lady. All I felt for her was… sadness that her mother didn’t raise her to do better and better to be better in public. This isn’t the next great white hope. This woman is the dregs people. She’s not Rosa Parks refusing to get off the bike. She’s some random crazy person whose story ultimately doesn’t have a happy ending. |
Yes, people have definitely compared her to Rosa Parks! And pinned a copy of her visage to their bosom as their savior. Yes! That has happened so often that you didn’t want to add to those mentions which is truly commendable. Definitely happened, too many times to mention. After all, the person taking the video was ‘neutral’ because someone here said so and it’s just so exhausting educating everyone on how they could do better and be better. Not the kid who put his hand over the lock so she couldn’t complete the reservation, or the person who said her baby would be r———-. They can’t do or be better because they were almost somethinged by a Karen! |
As the adult she should have known to walk away, but instead she hung in there like some petulant child, you’re not the boss of me, in some bizarro power struggle with a group of teens. She just looks foolish. Dignity people. Find another savior, Madonna what the heck is going on here… not entirely sure. But this thread is 40 pages devoted to some nitwit and her greasy food bag who picked a fight with some teens. And lost. Not a good look. |
I’m amazed at how posters try and claim a reasonable middle ground position by stating flatly that others have written things they full stop have not written. No one is ‘embracing’ her, or putting her on a pedestal. Much like the thread about the death of Jordan Neely, to support a charge of manslaughter but not murder or getting into the tricky stuff of encountering very mentally ill people on the train was transformed by idiot alchemy into ‘supporting the Marine’s actions.’ That also didn’t happen, but it never matters. People will see what they want to see. I do not see how the video and the explanation of how e-bikes are unlocked supports the idea that this woman was ‘stealing’ a bike on the teen’s account, since he clearly hadn’t unlocked the bike, or that she was trying to get him into serious trouble since she didn’t call police or even security at Bellevue. But because she’s annoying and she’s White, that’s it, flood her socials with harassing comments, force her employer to tweet a statement, do your work internet, hopefully get her fired, it’s what she deserves. Crazy. |
Does it make you angry that the white man broke ranks? Genuine question. I mean he’s a doctor, pediatrician, clearly he’s smart enough to know not to get into a public video recorded kerflufle, in defense of a nutter, facing off with a bunch of teens on a city sidewalk. He quickly summed it up, said this wacko is not my monkey, and this is not my circus. His expression when he realized what was going on was priceless. Told her to knock it off, take the other bike. Crisis averted. I’d bet money he’s at the crisis team meeting arguing to cut her loose. Or at the very least suggestion mandatory mental health treatment as a condition of return to work. |
Why do you assume that man who comes on at the end is a doctor, much less a pediatrician? I've never seen or heard him identified. Do you assume he's a doctor because he's a middle-aged white man in scrubs? Also he never said "this wacko is not my monkey, and this is not my circus." He never said "knock it off." What he actually does is ask if they can re-dock the bike to reset it. Because he instantly understands the issues, which is that the guy scanned his phone on a bike that the woman was already on, so now she's on a bike that's on his account. And his suggestion is to reset the bike so that she can put it on her account, as she clearly intended to do. When the guy and all his friends immediately jump in and start saying "it's his bike" and showing him the phone, he then turns to the woman and asks her "can you get another bike?" And she gets off. He doesn't call her a wacko or order her to get off the bike. He gets what the issue is, suggest one option that the guys all reject, then suggests another less confrontational option to the woman which she takes, because she sees these guys aren't going to back down. Like this is all not he video, but you are just making up a job description and a bunch of commentary for this guy that doesn't happen because it helps you paint this woman as an evil thief and the other guy as an innocent victim, even though the video that his own friend recorded doesn't show that. |
But Roxane Gay said it was White Woman Tears!! |

A simple google search turns up all
of the info. The G-O-O-G-L-E machine. You can also google and find a copy of the video with some of the background noise muted and you clearly hear the doc say “choose another” At which point, chastened she goes well that’s a great idea. And off she goes video over. The press has reached out to her for comment but she is not returning calls. |
And that proves … what? |
I'm not good at googling specific videos. Could you please post the video with the background noise muted? |
Holy heck for the sake of Brevity - the white adult lady picked a fight with a black teen, teen remained relatively level headed in the face crazy, white man told her to move and she moved. |
Yeah, no. Find it yourself. Google machine got it. |
I will try - what are the key words you used? |
The bolded is just the dumbest question possible. It’s telling of you, do you not understand that? It’s such a sad prism through which to see anything. There are no ‘ranks’ to me in this instance, it’s a dispute of who could take possession and when. That’s it. It’s been blown up into something by the nature of the viral video, something that can lead people to see things and place guilt prematurely, and then never consider other views. I wrote back way way early agreeing that she was in the ‘FO’ phase of ‘FAFO’ because like others, I believed that she had to have been in the wrong, and I was wrong about that, and I don’t believe her claim to the bike was as faulty as his. |
| Video crazy city bike PA. good luck. |
