She thinks it's 2015 and she's hot stuff, and he must want it because they all do right, and he under her spell will give up the bike. When that bit of mind f*7ckry doesn't work because she's no Kim K., she resorts too...

Expressing dominance through, white lady tears, and cries for help, thinking the teen is going to back off, but this fella isn't having it. This isn't 1960 and he's not fearing a good lynching for daring to make eye contact with a white woman.

But now she's embarrassed and can't back down, because nothing is working, and a neutral 3rd party has started filming.

Well, she may not be a villain, but she’s definitely a drama queen in this modern-day Rashomon.

And she ups the stakes when her colleague comes by, hysterical sobs, but that doesn't work either, because the colleague is just like drama lama soon to be someone's mama, get off the bike, you idiot.

Since he is a white man and a doctor, she complies, like a good little girl, after all of that earlier nonsense. A grown woman, a mother to at least one child, with another on the way, allowed herself to be caught on camera cycling through all of the trick to get a black man shot in the head, and in the end only stopped because a white man told her too.

She'd still be on that bike whining and crying about the black guys trying to hurt her fetus if he hadn't shown up and taken charge.

Everything else is a distraction. This dumb woman played a stupid game and now she's reaping stupid rewards.

Were her actions stupid, racist, and entitled? Heck yes. Stupid, racist, and entitled is a very dangerous combination.

She's lucky in this instance no one got hurt, other than her reputation, hopefully, she learns something and moves on as a more enlightened person.

The fallout, for acting like a fool on a city street...she's now on leave from her employer, pending an investigation. Employers don't like employees who cause problems, especially those who cause public problems, and especially those who don't lack value add. She's a PA, not a surgeon, not a doctor = she's toast.

Internet famous for all of the wrong reasons.

Regardless of the twits on here trying to defend her actions, she has a really large public egg all over her face. So much for life in the big city. Twit.

Trolling - video not filmed by a disinterested 3rd party; also, racist.

The videographer no relationship with the parties involved in the dispute. That is the know the other parties. That’s the literally definition of 3rd party.

But when your only reply is Troll, non issue point, followed by and you’re a racist too.

Your parting words should be simple and sweet. “Uncle” and “No mas”

Was your second sentence spat out by a blender? Try again.

I think the final word on this will be that she won’t be terminated, and that people who, unlike you, are receptive to reality and have a scrap of integrity, will admit that this woman isn’t a villain in this scenario.

Again. Ill pare it down for you. One of your own told her to stop and she did (with lightening speed). So i’ll do you the same service. Stop.

The other hospital worker who shows up doesn't tell her to "stop." He suggests they re-dock the bike to reset it and the guys all tell him that won't work, and then the hospital worker kind of shrugs and goes back to his phone call. He actually barely gets involved.

So much of this is people just asserting what they think might happen in a video like this, as though it's what happens in the video. It's bizarre. Most of these comments bear little to no resemblance to what actually happens in the video. Even the allegation of "fake crying" -- I don't see it. She is upset and touches her face and kind of shakes at one point, but it doesn't read as faked crying to me. It reads as her being frustrated by the situation, which she very clearly genuinely is.

In my opinion, the headlines saying she was stealing the bike are unfair. The headlines calling her racist are unjustified. I don't want her to lose her job over this.

That being said, she fits the description of a Karen to me. This was all over a bike rental with multiple other bikes available. The person who is right is the person who keeps their cool in what should have been a minor situation. The guys commented on her behavior and filmed her while she lost her composure. When she couldn't get the bike herself she called out for help in a really annoying way trying to get someone to come over and defend her right to have the bike. That sense of entitlement, that you can expect society to back you up in any dispute is what makes her a Karen. If you think she handles the situation well, then I'd suspect you are also a Karen.

I didn’t see other bikes available. Also being a “Karen” doesn’t merit getting internet mobbed and fired anyway.

There were other bikes available. You can see it in the video.

Well most times “Karen’s” are trying to get someone else fired, arrested and worst case killed.

No, his friend was sitting on the only other docked ebike visible. The other bike wasn’t an ebike.

You know what I had to watch it again but she’s right. Next to the purple shirt guy, in the beginning of the video there is what looks like an empty bike. It’s real quick, but focus on that part.

I think the other guy is taking that one out. You can hear the clunk.

if he did reserve it, that makes more sense. but unclear why he would be covering up the QR code. Also his friend is just sitting on the other bike.

The fact that he covers the QR code until she is distracted by her bag and then takes that opportunity to unlock the bike with his phone is, to me, evidence he did not reserve the bike in advance. He just wants the bike. We can't know what transpired before the video, but given their relative positions to the bike when the video starts (she's straddling it and holding the handlebars, he is merely next to it with an open palm covering the reader) it appears that she got to the bike first.

The videographer very clearly takes sides in the video -- he's friends with the guy trying to take the bike.

The videographer points at her and says "fake crying" when she puts her head in her hands, and later accuses her of fake crying when she gets off the bike. His commentary is what creates a lot of the narrative around the video, even when his comments don't match what is happening.

He is definitely NOT a "neutral 3rd party." He is actively involved and you could argue he does as much to bully her as the guy who is covering the QR code and then scans his phone when she is already on the bike. Notice that the other guys around area actually much more neutral, and the guy in the pink hoody suggests on two different occasions that they let her have the bike.

Well most times “Karen’s” are trying to get someone else fired, arrested and worst case killed.

No, his friend was sitting on the only other docked ebike visible. The other bike wasn’t an ebike.

Watch again. When she finally gets up there are 2 bikes available next to her docked. There is another empty bike next to him.

It shows one ebike his friend had been sitting on the whole time and then got off of; one person standing with an undocked ebike and one classic bike.

There are at least 3 bikes available. Yes the friend is sitting on one of those and another bike is undocked (would make that 4 bikes total in the video). They all say citibike and have the blue. Pause the videos.

I’ve watched it several times. There are no free ebikes shown. Dude’s friends are sitting on two visible ones.

They are because she decided to get another one once her coworker asked her to.

We don't see her get on another bike. She looks at her phone and the video ends. We have no idea what happened before or after this 90 second video (the EXTENSIVE fan fiction in this thread spinning elaborate fictions about words exchanged and actions that might have occurred).

Watch the video again. When the coworker asked get to get another bike she says “I can and I will”. Why will he asked her to get another bike if there are none available? Why will she say “I can and I will”?

Notice that the other guys around area actually much more neutral, and the guy in the pink hoody suggests on two different occasions that they let her have the bike.

the videographer also says the “baby’s gonna come out [disabled slur]”

Time stamp for this?

at the end, when she is getting off the bike

To be fair, that's not the videographer. Someone in the background says "baby's gonna come out with [unintelligible, I'm sure it was not complimentary]" but the videographer, whose voice is much louder then comes in to say "not a tear came down" again harassing her because he thinks she's "fake crying."

The videographer is a jerk. But it's one of the other delightful people who makes the comment about her baby coming out with some kind of problem or issue.

It's just a group of upstanding young gentlemen minding their own business, getting randomly harassed by a Karen, right?

The teen reacts as any sane person would to this act of aggression and rudeness. "Hey lady what are you doing?"

Yes, she clearly decided to incite a confrontation with multiple other people because she is rather obviously motivated by racial animus because that’s just obvious despite her lack of racist inventive, if you know you knowwwww! She made them late for their volunteer work with abandoned puppies, and for that she should lose her license, and thank god good citizens here can help with that. It’s only fair because there is no end to her monstrous nature - now, that part hasn’t been recorded but our intrepid posters, led by nothing more than their amazing psychic abilities, have so far identified her as a not-pregnant alcoholic who was probably hurting patients because of her racism plus hitting the hospital supply — all of this has been put on the thread because there are multiple Mentalists posting here. (If you know…you know.)

No, I’m not one of ‘your own,’ by which I mean your fellow mental patients on this thread. If you know….
