The teen reacts as any sane person would to this act of aggression and rudeness. "Hey lady what are you doing?"

She thinks it's 2015 and she's hot stuff, and he must want it because they all do right, and he under her spell will give up the bike. When that bit of mind f*7ckry doesn't work because she's no Kim K., she resorts too...

She'd still be on that bike whining and crying about the black guys trying to hurt her fetus if he hadn't shown up and taken charge.

Everything else is a distraction. This dumb woman played a stupid game and now she's reaping stupid rewards.

Were her actions stupid, racist, and entitled? Heck yes. Stupid, racist, and entitled is a very dangerous combination.

She's lucky in this instance no one got hurt, other than her reputation, hopefully, she learns something and moves on as a more enlightened person.

The fallout, for acting like a fool on a city street...she's now on leave from her employer, pending an investigation. Employers don't like employees who cause problems, especially those who cause public problems, and especially those who don't lack value add. She's a PA, not a surgeon, not a doctor = she's toast.

Regardless of the twits on here trying to defend her actions, she has a really large public egg all over her face. So much for life in the big city. Twit.

Trolling - video not filmed by a disinterested 3rd party; also, racist.

The videographer no relationship with the parties involved in the dispute. That is the know the other parties. That’s the literally definition of 3rd party.

But when your only reply is Troll, non issue point, followed by and you’re a racist too.

Your parting words should be simple and sweet. “Uncle” and “No mas”

The videographer very clearly takes sides in the video -- he's friends with the guy trying to take the bike.

The videographer points at her and says "fake crying" when she puts her head in her hands, and later accuses her of fake crying when she gets off the bike. His commentary is what creates a lot of the narrative around the video, even when his comments don't match what is happening.

He is definitely NOT a "neutral 3rd party." He is actively involved and you could argue he does as much to bully her as the guy who is covering the QR code and then scans his phone when she is already on the bike. Notice that the other guys around area actually much more neutral, and the guy in the pink hoody suggests on two different occasions that they let her have the bike.

the videographer also says the “baby’s gonna come out [disabled slur]”

Time stamp for this?

at the end, when she is getting off the bike

To be fair, that's not the videographer. Someone in the background says "baby's gonna come out with [unintelligible, I'm sure it was not complimentary]" but the videographer, whose voice is much louder then comes in to say "not a tear came down" again harassing her because he thinks she's "fake crying."

The videographer is a jerk. But it's one of the other delightful people who makes the comment about her baby coming out with some kind of problem or issue.

It's just a group of upstanding young gentlemen minding their own business, getting randomly harassed by a Karen, right?

Yes, she clearly decided to incite a confrontation with multiple other people because she is rather obviously motivated by racial animus because that’s just obvious despite her lack of racist inventive, if you know you knowwwww! She made them late for their volunteer work with abandoned puppies, and for that she should lose her license, and thank god good citizens here can help with that. It’s only fair because there is no end to her monstrous nature - now, that part hasn’t been recorded but our intrepid posters, led by nothing more than their amazing psychic abilities, have so far identified her as a not-pregnant alcoholic who was probably hurting patients because of her racism plus hitting the hospital supply — all of this has been put on the thread because there are multiple Mentalists posting here. (If you know…you know.)

Are you still mad?

No, I’m not one of ‘your own,’ by which I mean your fellow mental patients on this thread. If you know….

Does it make you angry that the white man broke ranks? Genuine question.

I mean he’s a doctor, pediatrician, clearly he’s smart enough to know not to get into a public video recorded kerflufle, in defense of a nutter, facing off with a bunch of teens on a city sidewalk.

He quickly summed it up, said this wacko is not my monkey, and this is not my circus.

His expression when he realized what was going on was priceless. Told her to knock it off, take the other bike. Crisis averted.

I’d bet money he’s at the crisis team
meeting arguing to cut her loose. Or at the very least suggestion mandatory mental health treatment as a condition of return to work.

Why do you assume that man who comes on at the end is a doctor, much less a pediatrician? I've never seen or heard him identified. Do you assume he's a doctor because he's a middle-aged white man in scrubs?

Also he never said "this wacko is not my monkey, and this is not my circus." He never said "knock it off." What he actually does is ask if they can re-dock the bike to reset it. Because he instantly understands the issues, which is that the guy scanned his phone on a bike that the woman was already on, so now she's on a bike that's on his account. And his suggestion is to reset the bike so that she can put it on her account, as she clearly intended to do.

When the guy and all his friends immediately jump in and start saying "it's his bike" and showing him the phone, he then turns to the woman and asks her "can you get another bike?" And she gets off. He doesn't call her a wacko or order her to get off the bike. He gets what the issue is, suggest one option that the guys all reject, then suggests another less confrontational option to the woman which she takes, because she sees these guys aren't going to back down.

Like this is all not he video, but you are just making up a job description and a bunch of commentary for this guy that doesn't happen because it helps you paint this woman as an evil thief and the other guy as an innocent victim, even though the video that his own friend recorded doesn't show that.

But Roxane Gay said it was White Woman Tears!!

Holy heck for the sake of Brevity - the white adult lady picked a fight with a black teen, teen remained relatively level headed in the face crazy, white man told her to move and she moved.

Or … group of teen boys surround pregnant woman, insist she give up the E-bike she is already sitting on, videotape her getting upset, post it online, and call her baby a slur.
Anonymous
He had not paid for the bike when the video started.

He is covering the QR reader to prevent the woman, who is already on the bike, from renting it.

He then moves his hand so he can scan it with his own phone at the :20 second mark of the video (you can year the chime releasing the bike).

Then he and his friends tell her now she has to get off because he's paid for the bike.

When the bystanders stops to ask what is going on, it is only then that he claims that he had already paid for the bike when she sat on it. Except unlike the bystander, we can see the beginning of the video when she is sitting on the bike and he is clearly trying to prevent her from renting it (the only part of the bike he is touching is the QR reader screen) and we can see/hear when he rents the bike AFTER she is already sitting on it.

I don't understand everyone saying "he reserved it" or "he already paid" or whatever. I saw that on Twitter too and thought that was what happened also. But then I watched the video and watched him block her from renting it and then rent it himself while she was sitting not he bike.

That's the whole thing folks. She's not crazy, drunk, power mad, a white supremacist, or "weaponizing white tears." She's trying to rent a bike and go home. But sure, get her fired. Ok, that will solve everything.

At which point, chastened she goes well that’s a great idea. And off she goes video over.

The press has reached out to her for comment but she is not returning calls.

And that proves … what?

Holy heck! For the sake of capital B Brevity, it proves nothing.

This woman got into a disagreement over a bike rental and she's on video screaming HELP ME and crying fake tears and claiming he hurt her fetus when there was an available bike next to her the whole time. Unreal.

It's not worth her being fired over but if she even had a shred of dignity, she'd be completely embarrassed over her behavior being shown all over the interwebs. I can only imagine how many times in her life and in how many situations she's pulled that stunt before. Certainly not the first time.

This.
Regardless of who rented the bike first or was claiming the bike first. Her actions, screams for help, and fake tears were unnecessary, over the top, and dangerous considering that Black boys have been killed for less.

I don’t think she should get fired for her actions.

Both things can be true. Maybe she can get sensitivity training assigned at work but definitely shouldn’t be fired.

The problem is, if I were a patient of hers, even knowing I don’t think she should be fired, I wouldn’t want to be under her care. It’s quite the conundrum.

Both things can be true. Maybe she can get sensitivity training assigned at work but definitely shouldn’t be fired.

The problem is, if I were a patient of hers, even knowing I don’t think she should be fired, I wouldn’t want to be under her care. It’s quite the conundrum.

Her employer can fire her for that reason alone. If patients refuse to be seen by her or go to other hospitals because this one still employs her, that’s reason enough for them to can her, regardless of how they feel about her actions.

Have some dignity lady. All I felt for her was… sadness that her mother didn’t raise her to do better and better to be better in public.

This isn’t the next great white hope. This woman is the dregs people. She’s not Rosa Parks refusing to get off the bike. She’s some random crazy person whose story ultimately doesn’t have a happy ending.

She doesn't cry fake tears. She doesn't cry tears at all. She is frustrated. This guy is preventing her from renting the bike she is actually sitting on, then rents it while she's sitting on it, then claims she has to get off because, after all, he rented the bike already. She's frustrated.

She's yelling help because after she sits on the bike, he comes over and physically steps right up next to her and puts his hand over the scanner on the bike so she can't rent the bike. She wants someone to help her because he's physically intimidating her.

She's already on the bike. Why doesn't HE go to the next bike? We literally watch him prevent her from renting the bike (covering the scanner so she can't access it) then rent the bike himself in the middle of the video. There was no reason for him to do this. Why didn't he just go rent a bike someone wasn't already sitting on?

Why do the boys surround her? One is behind her on another bike, one sits on the bike to her other side, the guy filming is in front of her, the guy trying to take the bike she's on is directly next to her on her right. Why do they circle up?

What is it that you think she's "pulled before"? Calling for help when she is surrounded by people who are demanding she give them something she has? How is that a "stunt"?

That’s in her CBA I take it?

Anonymous wrote:My take is the teen was standing next to the bike in the process of renting it, and this woman walked up to the bike, bypassing the others that were open and free to rent, without making eye contact and without asking, "Are you using this one?" because that would be the civilized thing to do and the option that takes into account that other people exist, places her left hand on the handlebar, clutching her greasy bag of food, and slips her let over the crossbar.

Expressing dominance through, white lady tears, and cries for help, thinking the teen is going to back off, but this fella isn't having it. This isn't 1960 and he's not fearing a good lynching for daring to make eye contact with a white woman.

But now she's embarrassed and can't back down, because nothing is working, and a neutral 3rd party has started filming.

And she ups the stakes when her colleague comes by, hysterical sobs, but that doesn't work either, because the colleague is just like drama lama soon to be someone's mama, get off the bike, you idiot.

Since he is a white man and a doctor, she complies, like a good little girl, after all of that earlier nonsense. A grown woman, a mother to at least one child, with another on the way, allowed herself to be caught on camera cycling through all of the trick to get a black man shot in the head, and in the end only stopped because a white man told her too.

Internet famous for all of the wrong reasons.

You forgot “and hurt her fetus”… omg do you think she’s a crazy MAGA pro life person. Wah my fetus wants this bike right now! My fetus has hurt feelings! Mah fetus is offended! lol hysterical you can’t make this stuff up.

You literally just made up a bunch of stuff. Yes, hysterical. Now she's a MAGA pro lifer who wanted the bike for her fetus. Ok.

She acted like a fool on a public street, while being videotaped and brought her fetus into it… now this video has gone world wide viral, people all over the world are mocking her.

She teed it up… put a big red nose on it and said punch it. It’s hysterical. The side not hysterical is sinister. Make no mistake I and many, many others are clowning this dope but she’s also outed herself.

And many aren’t commenting because what it represents is ugly and painful to watch

This white woman decided to have some fun and get cute, she’s not the first and she won’t be the last. That’s what I saw it was a game to her. She wasn’t afraid. She was playing a stupid game, well historically those stupid games got people killed. Strange fruit, hanging from trees, no thank you ma’am.

No one died this time. I’m thankful for him and her, but don’t get me wrong. I feel no sympathy for her. All actions have consequences.

If she gets fired for this, I think she should sue, and I think if this video is examined in a court of law and not the court of Twitter, it will be quite obvious that there is nothing wrong with her behavior.

She is on a bike and a man comes up and covers up the scanner on the bike. Look at this picture -- she is on the bike with her hand on the handlebars and the cross bar between her legs. He is standing NEXT to the bike with only one hand on the bike -- covering up the scanner where you rent the bike, preventing her from renting it so that he can THEN rent the bike.

She's calling for help because he's forcing her off a bike and his friends are surrounding her and filming her without her permission. And then they posted the video online and claimed she tried to steal the bike from him (she doesn't, he rents the bike during the video while she is on it) and that she is crying "fake tears" (matter of interpretation, she's clearly genuinely frustrated, I personally think she would have been entitled to real tears in that situation because these guys are being aggressive and nasty to her).
