Sorry, there is a big talent gap between 25 Midnight and Carolina players. Players were put on Carolina because they were not good enough for Midnight. Saw them play at Champions Cup - there was a big drop off when some players came in. |
The sale to the St. James must be official -- just saw the announcement posted on the St. James social channels. Haven't found a press release yet, though. |
Why is this your concern? Worry about your team, your kids. It’s mind-bottling that adults are going back and forth on this chain still to bash teams, kids and a league anonymously. Your speculation is not accurate. There are worse things in life and it’s crazy how much time people spend on here… |
Clearly you people you do not know the facts. MCE is far from goalie poaching, that is everyone else. The one goalie that "just showed up" has been around for years. She started her young career with MCE and the club supported her transition to Balto, but she still did camps and clinics with MCE. When she went to boarding school she came back to MCE. She was injured last summer and in the Fall, again she is NOT new. There are 3 25 goalies for MCE and they play where they are needed, which is awesome for players vs being one of 4 to 5 goalies at another club, this is development. MCE has tremendous success with goalies. People have ripped the club for having nothing to do with Denver goalie's success, but I guess scheduling tournaments and practice time does not count in some of your minds, that is club lax. The Navy starting goalie is also MCE, was a lifer. UMBC goalie joined club in MS. This past spring the club had 8 goalies playing in college, 6 D1 and 2 DIII - those are facts. #spreadpositivity |
Show me one top team with more than 2 goalies... So they added a third goalie so now the other two get screwed out of playing time. Makes a ton of sense. |
This. No team should carry more than 2 goalies. There are also MC ages that have 1 goalie for 2 teams. |
NP but I read it differently : 3 goalies for 2 age group team so midnight and Carolina. Consistent with other programs. Someone will correct me if I am wrong, I am sure |
Except for the 2025s: the Carolina team is not playing this summer as a team, just some of the Carolina players playing with 2025 Midnight or the 2024s. Both of those teams already had 2 goalies. Which makes 3 goalies for 1 team. |
What the defensive posters do not seem to get or care about is that criticisms and commentary on here are not about any of the past successes of the club. It is about how things are being managed now, or not managed as the case may be. The fact is that there is a dwindling pipeline of talent as families leave for other clubs and MCE elementary and middle school teams continue to fall further behind other local programs. |
What do you think the program looked like when the current college girls went thru the program in the early years? Is it perhaps possible that the infrastructure was the exact same, but the community trusted the model and coaches? Were there less parents who thought that they knew what to do? The point is the past successes u mention R the current successes MS families should be using when considering clubs. |
Classic blame the parents mentality of MCE. Maybe realize there were simply fewer options for families even a few years ago. Other area programs grew and surpassed MCE, and appear to be doing it better with more trust among families, better coaching, and better leadership. |
I have first hand experience of an attempted poaching. But believe what you like. |
Will Kristen Carr be involved with MC or just Stars? |
The jury is out on this one. MCE says she will but proof will be next year. MCE does not have best track record of following through on promises. |
I think there’s a lot of potential for the club and am hopeful the buyout will lend some more structure and accountability. |
