I just watched an interview with former policeman on CNN an the was talking about how the police in the Dallas attacks only had handguns and that their bullet proof vests are actually NOT bullet proof when it comes to assault rifles. This is scary. For those that keep defending that people have assault weapons, now knowing that people that want to do harm also have them - is a scary thought, isn't it? If everyone that wants to do harm to police and whomever purchase assault weapons, how will we stand a chance? It will become a war zone. Also, several of the Black Lives Matters protesters were strutting down the street with their assault weapons - as that is legal to do apparently in Texas. |
I think eventually, people are going to have to give those damn guns up. They serve no purpose to the general public. And clearly are dangerous in the wrong hands. Maybe we let people store them at gun ranges or something.
I will never understand how anyone can defend those particular firearms. |
I don't think we can defend big bad firearms in public, or cute itty bitty ones, either. We shouldn't have them. We buy them because we are under the false impressing that we need them for our own safety, and then we make our own nightmares of violence and terror actually come true. |

300 million guns of any kind in a country with a history like ours is a huge problem. |
Gee I thought that assault rifles were pretty much the same as six shooters, knives, and a pointy stick. And there's something about how we have to get rid of pools before we can get rid of guns, but I can't quite remember how that one goes. |
First off, this has been a problem long before BLM. You may not remember the shoot out in LA where the police had to borrow guns and ammo from a local gun store because their weapons were ineffective. http://www.cnn.com/US/9702/28/shootout.update/ Second what do you think the NRA people are talking about when they say they need to be armed to stop the government? It's to kill the police and Feds. |
"Guns don't kill people, people kill people." <-- The stupidest g-d slogan in the universe. |
You do know whites strut down the street blatantly with their assault weapons also. Guess that's different. |
No, it is not different and that is scary too. This is in reference to what happened in Dallas last night. Anyone strutting down the street with an assault weapon is scary. |
It all goes back to gun control. But this country does not have the guts, the balks, do get it done. |
I've learned that some people that don't support a ban on assault riffles do it out of fear that a ban on ARs would be just the first step. Slippery slope. Men that love hunting. They think that if it starts with a ban on ARs, eventually their precious hunting guns will also be banned. I think it's nonsense. |
It is nonsense. No-one needs an assault rifle. They are military weapons. Why don't our police have bullet proof vests that shield them from assault weapon bullets? Do they exist? I find that so sad that the Dallas police had no chance even with vests because they had handguns and the assault weapons can penetrate their vests. |
The only reason to have an assault rifle is to kill people in mass quickly. Why does this surprise anyone. |
They'd rather die, and kill you, than do that. You are calling for civil war. |
