When Assault Rifles get into the hands of people that want to harm police, and other people

We know how much gang members and drug dealers love following the law! An "assault weapons" ban isn't happening, you should focus on other things.

How do you think those criminals are getting the assault weapons ... carving them out of soap? Nope, they're obtaining them after someone (maybe the criminal, or maybe someone else) buys them legally. Eliminate the first sale, and you've eliminated all the later uses by criminals. Prevent people from owning them, and you've prevented them from later falling into the hands of criminals.

If you think the assault weapons ban our country already had for several years isn't getting re-imposed, you're not paying attention to the direction politics is headed. It's happening. Maybe at the federal level, and certainly at the state level.

Lol wrong, at least in part. AR-15s are easily built at home. They're also not "assault rifles," but there's nothing gained by trying to educate the willfully ignorant.

Whatever they're called, I think it's bad when the police who are protecting us are outgunned. And I don't think the answer is arming the police with military grade weapons to compensate.

Dallas Town Hall

"Speakers said tighter gun controls are key to preventing mass shootings. President Barack Obama for years has sought laws to ban assault weapons, require tougher background checks and limit the capacity of magazines on semiautomatic weapons.

“One person with an assault weapon, that’s a weapon of mass destruction,” said U.S. Rep Cedric Richmond, D-Louisiana.

Lt. Don Hyder of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit police said officers who want tighter gun laws must band together and be more vocal.

Johnson, acknowledged, however, that such legislation is doomed as long as Congress is controlled by Republicans whose constituents view most gun controls as an infringement on their 2nd Amendment rights."

And Milwaukee police chief agrees:

"Flynn then pleaded with lawmakers to change local, federal and state gun laws to prevent incidents such as last week, which saw a sniper fatally shoot five Dallas police officers.

"Help us do something about guns," he implored. "What was that man doing with an assault rifle?" he asked, referring to the Dallas sniper.

mean, fine, go to the funeral of the five cops but how did that guy get that assault rifle and why did he walk down the street with it and then use it?"

Stopping or changing that "requires some political courage," Flynn added."

All important thoughts for people who think Blue Lives Matter.
