Fuel costs are NOT low and everyday Americans know it. IF they were low, then food and other services would certainly be cheaper. Just looking at my credit card statement going back....In Ft Lauderdale FL 11-5-20 Unleaded at COSTco $1.84 a gal. Today $3.24. That's why all the stickers at the gas station say "Thanks Joe" |
Remembers the cheap gas, forgets the Republican Pandemic and no one going anywhere that made it possible. Classic GOP. |
|
$1.84 per gallon is cheap! That is lower than I paid 20 years ago in the midwest.
Those stickers on the pumps are for stupid people who believe the president controls gas prices. If you want the government to control gas prices, move to Russia comrade. |
|
Supply chain and other things were fixed long ago.
As for the real problem, look no farther than the record profits being reaped by the companies that control the high consumer prices. Most of the high prices at this point is nothing but pure greed and price gouging. |
Yes, gas prices went up as the US economy recovered from the Trump economic crash. The reason gas was so cheap in the fall of 2020 was because our economy had come to a stand still and there was zero demand to travel or purchase gas. There were refineries literally giving it away. Maybe look at a long term chart for gas prices if you really want to see where we are relative to other times and economic cycles: https://www.gasbuddy.com/charts |

It's ok, the GOP will shut the government down, costing billions of dollars and tank the economy, like they have several times before when they have nothing else. Oh, and they will blame Biden. |
This administration needs to take responsibilty for the results of its policies. It attacked petroleum with ten executive orders in its first week in office. Do not blame private industry for the actions of Joe Biden. He caused an artificial shortage of petroleum to force battery powered EV's on the public. In fact, NOW this administration is attacking LNG. BTW, petroleum and LNG are Russia's top exports, so of course they benefit from artifically induced shortages, which increases prices. |
JFC the US is producing more energy than it EVER has before. |
Domestic oil production is at all time highs. So are the profits of the oil companies. They are price gouging and you are falling for it. |
If you read the LNG thread, you will see that the pause on new permits does not impact existing permits or projects already under construction. There is a pause for project that wouldn't even break ground for several years, which has ZERO impact on oil or gas prices today. |
So the Pandemic was "Republican" That's a new one, that's so stupid I can't even believe a Democrat tried to say that. The Pandemic was Republican, but Democrats loved lockdowns, restrictions, hysteria, while at the same time shutting down any suggestion that the Pandemic began in China calling it misinformation, and now claiming it was Republican. So stupid only an intellectual would believe it. |
|
This is what it's like to argue with a democrat.
R: "If you do X, Y will happen." D: "No it won't" R: "Yes it will" D: "No it won't" R: "Yes it will" D: "No it won't" R: "Yes it will" D: "Shut up. We're doing it anyway. Why do you hate Democracy?" They do X. Time passes. Y Happens. D: "Well yes, Y happened, but it's not because of X." |
If you are looking at gas prices over the last decade and extolling that it was so cheap in November of 2020 (when trump was president) and not putting that cheap prices in context, then yes, that makes you a republican. Also, those "lockdowns" and the hysteria and empty shelves were in March/April of 2020 when....Trump....was president. |
