Banning All Muslims to Immigrate to USA

How would the implementation look like? Can some intelligent Trump supporter help me understand. Is the ban based on country or origin, name, self-identification? Who is Muslim?

Is this the part you are referring to? So, basically he is saying citizens of certain countries (not Muslims only) will be banned to enter USA. What about Muslim citizens of British, or Irish, or French or German - these are our Allies?

Isn't he flip-flopping here? Earlier he definitely called it "ban on Muslims." Now it's people from certain "areas of the world." Let's all freak out about this inconsistency (rather than the stupid policy itself) much like Trump supporters are acting like it's super important than Clinton said the terminology "radical Islam" or something else doesn't matter.

Trump will apparently suspend immigration from Ireland:

There is a well-documented history of terrorism by the Irish against our British ally.

For that matter, early Zionists committed many terrorist acts against our British ally as well. So, I guess Israeli immigration will also be suspended.

Ask the state department how they ban most people south of the border from entering even as a visitor. Unless something has drastically changed, I think most people's applications are denied. We deny entry to tons of people. How many of the 11 million Syrian refugees, to whom we outwardly granted TPS, did we actually allow to enter so far? . . .

You apply for a visa at the embassy and they say no. Happens every day in South America and Central America. No act of congress or executive order required. If this were not the case, there would be no border issue.

It is not as simple as the dEmagogue says. There is so much trade that happens in the region, military contacts and family relationships. How do you stop American citizen muslims coming back to the US after a business trip sent out by a US company? How do you stop family visits? American military has so many muslims in the region working in multiple roles, contractors, soldiers etc. It is simply not possible. Businesses will protest as will military and not to say Saudis and Turks who have significant influence. America is actually dependent on them for the military combats there. This guy is all bluster but when he is elected he will make more bluster and showmanship when in reality nothing will change. THAT IS HIS MO. Say whatever to get elected THEN keep the status quo and KEEP UP THE BLUSTER. But the not so intelligent gullible backers wont realize what happened and will be happy to hear the same sound bytes no matter what happens in reality.

I'm not experienced in banning a religion from the U.S. But I have seen us give special immigration status to particular religious groups. Take, for example, when we granted I think it was TPS to all Syrian Jews about 10 years ago. So, maybe generally all consulates in said countries generally deny all applications for visitor and family based visas unless you are a TPS applicant?

But I am not sure how that would work for employment based visas where labor certification with DOL is involved. And I am not an immigration lawyer, and most importantly I am not saying I am for a Muslim ban or anything.

See that is where my problem with Trump's statement to address the issue. Yes, many countries have added restriction for Citizens of some countries which is based on mutual relationship and not based on religion. When Trump tries to scare everyone about radical Islam and promises ban on Muslim immigration, that is very different. It cannot be implemented. If we are afraid of the some terrorism caused by people claiming to be Muslim, there are so many issues to identify them that, it is like drawing a line on sands under sea waves. Its is not so simple. As far rigorous check for immigration, it is already being done; ask people who immigrate here. Trump cannot implement anything new that can bolster our security. He does not understand the complexity of foreign relationship and immigration. That is why he is making such statement and people are lapping it up!

Completely agree, I wanted to take simple steps by asking questions so that Trump supporters can see the irrationality of Trump's proposal. Immigration restriction and international relationship & trade are intertwined. Trump's little brain does not get it - I hope many Trump fans can see the light before November.
