Can't see Jags ... There are already 3 ECNL clubs in their main market. Also can't see 1 of them wanting them in (Hawks). |
| It would have to be a team with ECNL boys. Similar to what they did with SC Surf. |
IMG only because they potentially lose that facility. I don’t believe the club overall is very strong. |
IMG would be huge cause they have been very successful and are a big brand name with great facilities. I don't think its them however, they are trending down now and staying in ga is probably a lot better for them |
Boys are MLSNext too |
IMG is not that strong at the younger ages, but they get very strong by U19. At U13, they do not have a super talented team, just lots of very well off kids who can afford to go there. And no amount of daily training will help them compete at the top of the table. But by U19, they have a lot of talented kids and a very competitive squad. They are usually at the top the table by then. |
Sounds exactly their biz model to get kids seeking high exposure they can't find elsewhere from across the country, especially the closer you get to HS graduation. |
| And what if I ECNL club jumps ship? Maybe all this noise is to distract from that possibility and to try to get that club to get cold feet? |
😏 |
| Don't forget ... ECNL is all about the FOMO. |
Any of those teams that have Boys in MLSNext 1 are not leaving, unless they are getting kicked out of MLSNext like Oakwood did. |
|
I'd add NEFC to the list. They are in a TopHat situation with GA showering them with two teams in the league.
STA seems like a shoo-in it was rumored they were moving a few months ago. So who is the second? |
| Quick question? Which rumors last year failed to pan out? |
If it is STA, then makes sense why they added that NJ team today. Perhaps Midwest United is getting back in ECNL - which is why they added Stars yesterday. |
I’d look at it from the standpoint of which boys side stuck around ECNL. |
