Waterford flipped for what, asylum in Canada? And I just don’t get what intelligence he has that will help anyone. Prisoner exchange would have made more sense than informant.

I don’t think that’s how/when Hot Diplomat would have told them about a deal with Fred.

Plus, why wouldn’t Nick flip and defect to Canada? Is it because of worrying about his new wife, is that what the ring thing was about?

I don’t care any more about Elizabeth Moss’s face. I thought the catholic school stuff was hokey.

Agree, it was really bizarre and drawn out. None of it made sense. Why wouldn't Nick just leave.

I agree. The world-building had gone off the rails this season. The writers are asking us to suspend disbelief but it’s too much.

Why was meeting at the Catholic school hokey? The US right now in 2021 is full of shuttered Catholic schools that are time capsules. I’m sure Canada also has them. Plus, it’s easy enough to believe that it was a Saturday, Sunday, or a religious holiday. With that much snow on the ground, it could be Winter Break or an early Spring Break.

I’m shocked McKenna Grace is only 14. She’s doing great in this show.

(Happened to be watching Young Sheldon and googled her)

It was probably close to the boarder/near fighting.

Nick and June definitely love each other, but I firmly believe they shouldn’t end up together. I don’t think she should end up with either of them.

Agreed with all of this, but Luke deserves better.
Trauma and danger can really cause intense romantic love.

I would love to see them get Hannah back and stay together, but that's probably a pipe dream. I don't think Luke deserves better--June did the best she could in a terrifying and traumatic situation.

+1 two thoughts on Luke - I think he’s a total jerk for asking June to meet up with her rapist and bring her baby along. As that scene unfolded I couldn’t believe how straightforward his request was - zero recognition that meeting up with your rapist might be a tough thing to do. (And, yes, I know that’s not how June views Nic - but Luke doesn’t know that).

Next - I can’t tell if his acting is horrible or the writing is. All he does is act whiny and simpers.

And, finally, does every-single-show need to start and end with her face.

June told Luke she was I love with Nick at some point. Luke was sacrificing his own feelings to get Hanna back. Basically June was right. He is willing to lose June to get Hanna.

Agreed. I don’t think Luke thinks Nick raped June.

It was a forced sex. The two of them were interested in each other before.

It was probably closed due to lack of students - remember the whole fertility crisis?

She is fine but I don’t really need to see anyone else becoming a handmaid. That ground has been covered.

+1

I’m over what’s going on in Gilead unless something different happens. They are losing my empathy and interest and it starts to feel like torture porn- we’ve been watching women be brutalized for four seasons. It’s not moving the story forward any longer.

It looked like a HS. The fertility crisis hadn’t been going on that long, right?

Didn’t we meet Nick’s wife in a previous season?

They briefly showed a picture of all women and the school (?) was called Maria Magdalena- Mary Magdalene. Reference to the Magdalene homes for unwed mothers?

I think the point is Handmaid’s aren’t going away. If anything they need a new crop and don’t care if they were former wives. Serena knows she would now be a Handmaid.

At least ten years before Gilead, maybe more.

Yes. For at least a decade, probably longer. June was in Gilead for 7 years. At the time she was imprisoned there Hannah was around 4-5 years old. Remember how the woman went crazy and tried to steal newborn Hannah from the hospital? The fertility crisis was in full swing or close to it at the time Hannah was born over a decade ago.

So many biblical references in this episode - this and the Last Supper, and I feel like there was something else as well.
