Elementary School-Aged Kids
| The kids who have parents who let them be their spirited selves are the kids who will run the world. Have fun with your assistant manager kids, drunk lady! |
Same experience with my kid. He’s in elementary now and thriving. So glad to past the preschool playdates and mommy judgment. He has tons of friends and has had literally zero issues with his teachers so it’s never been about bad behavior. He’s just got a whole lot of personality. |
Oh yeah? What do you do for a living? |
I run a start up & my "problem child" DH is a VP who regularly changes people's lives. His brother works in film. |
Cool, so he is not, in fact, “running the world.” But I’ll be sure and hold my tongue next time my kid’s acting up just in case he wants to be one of the bazillions of VPs out there someday. |

Yeah, okay. |
You don’t seem to be very busy with your startup, since you are ALL over this thread. |
I'd rather hang out with OP and her kid than you. I prefer boisterous to jerks. |
Damn... DCUMing in my sleep again. I only recall typing 16:45 and a follow up. |
I don't think Obama was a spirited child, and neither was Angela Merkel. Just a hunch. |
| I think it may be more about chemistry between individual kids than good kid vs. bad kid. My 10-year old has a neighborhood friend who is a very good boy....but he's loud, bouncy, big personality and likes to tell the group what to do. I noticed that lately DS started to avoid him and opt for other, quieter friends. Nothing wrong with that boy. Their personalities just don't meld well. |
Could it be that he learned to tone it down with the teachers the way he never had to with you? I posted earlier that loud kids learn to dial it down when they learn that they have to in order to get something they want. If they are loud with someone else, it's not because they can't help it, it's because they don't feel like they have to, with that person. |
People with real leadership qualities would never be so dismissive of assistant managers. |
Fine by me. You sound boring. |
