I think it is a mix of things: they always have been republicans/don’t want to believe how horrible the party is now, are not well informed/educated, don’t get or care are things on a large scale. My mom is one of the most loyal, hardworking, will drop anything to help a friend, giving of her time to make sure town clubs are well run, etc - she definitely voted for Trump. She LOVES my Mexican bff. I finally broke down and told her that he is a DACA recipient. She literally cried at the thought of him getting deported. Not sure if that will change the larger picture for her. She is very compassionate on an individual basis but has a hard time expanding that to the larger scale. |
Frankly, we need many many more people like your mom. Life is about living, not about politics. |
Cudos to your mom. She recognizes the horrible situation, but still capable to recognize right from wrong. The proper legal way for your boyfriend is to follow the proper procedure for immigration. You can marry him and he will become a naturalized citizen in a lawful way. |
That’s not the way naturalization works. |
On the contrary, it’s you who has been putting words in other PP’s mouths and doing your best to troll those of us you disagree with. You seem unable to debate without telling others they’re “full of shit,” evidence that you really have nothing intelligent to say. You have certainly shown yourself to be all of the nasty things you list, and so much more. Including terribly off-kilter and unhinged. I can see that you somehow enjoy arguing just for the sake of arguing, a clear sign that you have emotional issues. Not interested in playing your bizarre games, so bye now. I hope you receive the help you so clearly need. |

For people here illegally, it's very difficult or impossible to get citizenship that way. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna898486&ved=2ahUKEwj3sr31mY_fAhUJr1kKHSgdBwsQFjACegQICRAB&usg=AOvVaw2ziSEX-oRdQIhDl-vvg23j&cf=1 |
Who ever said Trump was a "glowing example of Republican kindness"? Exactly no one. Nice strawman, though. ![]() |
This post is a mash-up of all the lamest comebacks ever seen on DCUM. But you forgot to put "you're just jealous" in there somewhere. |
Plus, the idiot is mixing up posters. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Um, best friend, not boyfriend. Yeah - he doesn’t have the thousands of dollars to do so. This choice was made for him as a child. And, no, he isn’t draining the American people. He pays taxes, worked multiple jobs to get through college, was a college athlete, etc, etc. And while she recognizes right/wrong - she still voted for it, which is what I have issues with. Politics do impact people’s lives in very significant ways. Let’s not even get started about her voting against her own self-interest when it comes to health care. |
Have you read the article you posted? It says harder. Yes, legal ways are always HARDER. It is easier to steal Cartier watch than work hard for it. It is harder to drive within the speed limit. Lawful ways are always harder. As to the pp, if he boyfriend haven't committed any violations of law, other than coming to us illegally, it is not the hat hard to legalize through marriage. |
Down to 38 - Jeff must've done some housekeeping. ![]() |
Her mom’s politics have directly harmed people. The man who killed himself after the family separation policy was instituted is on her mom, and on you. Trump greenlighting authoritarianism’s global acceleration places Khashoggi’s dismemberment on her, and on you. Tens of thousands have already severely suffered. Congratulations!!!! But if she makes sure there are cookies at the next HOA meeting, PP’s mommy definitely gets into heaven before the 1 year old who died after her family separation, hm? It’s your mantra, remember? Elections have consequences. |
Anyone who still supports trump after the latest evidence of his betrayal is anti-American. |
