This has long been contemplated. I've made one contribution already and will contribute again once it's clear the deep pockets like Bruce Cohen and Julianne Moore are stepping forward.

So far it's about $8,200 which is 9,990,000 short. So many people wanted this done-where is the money?

I am donating via my exhorbitant local property taxes. I'm also paying for IB at that school. I just read that FCPS is setting up salad bars [complete with the equipment] at 141 elementary schools.

Unless Hollywood comes through, I suspect the school system will have to take the funds from elsewhere. Too bad.

Of course, Bruce Cohen and Julianne Moore can and should be ridiculed if they don't donate soon. Each should be expected to pledge at least $100,000 given their 1% status and the relative poverty of the Stuart district.

If this was truly a priority, they would fund it.
And they had a simple and easy solution, just drop the JEB and phase out any material with that name over time.

I don't agree that would have been a good solution. If they were going to change the name, Stuart should not have been a choice. I don't know why people keep bringing up this argument.
