Same reason they don't report every house that has kids boozing it up.

I think they should, the homeowners that allowed this to happen should rot in jail.

If Montgomery County police isn't corrupted, they'll be going to jail.

For what, they will pay the fine for having an underage drinking party... That is not a jailable offense.

In contrast, those of us who are actually mourning the loss of life and the destruction of lives are just trying to do what we can to pull ourselves together and take it day by day. You disgust me with your pitchfork sharpening. It won't make your lives better or your children safer. Perhaps there are too many people cackling about other peoples' misfortune. I really, really don't think you understand the pain some of us are feeling.

If you want to try to turn this witch hunt around do this: get the hell off of here and go give your kids a hug. They are alive, haven't made any deadly mistakes, and will most likely see tomorrow. Spend your time with them instead of on here doing this.

PP, this is bull. The driver had been cited along with one of the dead kids for alcohol. It is a tragedy but one the parents should have been clued into as a possibility for a while now. It's not a total surprise that they ended up drunk driving and dead.

I think people are angry and disgusted b/c drunk driving is totally preventable.

I'll tell you what disgusts me. Adults served kids alcohol. Nobody has the right to serve somebody else's child alcohol. It is illegal plain and simple. I want to know who this parent is to protect MY child who attends a school in the same cluster. Many of my kids' friends have older siblings who just graduated.

Hello, Rich people don't care about fines. The killings will continue until guilty parents get jail time for allowing underaged drinking parties in their homes. Plain and Simple. Who's kid will be next?

Exactly. Plus his parents were funding his reckless lifestyle, drinking and driving. Lots of parents are doing this shit.

And how exactly were the parents funding this??

True, but I hope they find a way to make the host family an accessory to the homicide -- the host family and the teen that had the party and the person that supplied the alcohol.
It just makes me sick.

Ask your kids, they know their names.

Then you need to work to change the law. As the PP says, furnishing alcohol and allowing possession or consumption of alcohol are not jailable offenses.

Don't be so sure. Laws vary by state but a quick Google search pulled up this case.

In Pennsylvania, a parent received a prison sentence for involuntary manslaughter after several teenagers died in a drunk-driving accident following a party hosted by the parent. Although the parent didn’t supply the alcohol, the parent knowingly allowed the teenagers to drink alcohol at the party. Exactly.

Parents will continue providing the alcohol and allowing the underaged drinking parties UNTIL they risk getting put in jail. Even the fear of 24 hours in jail would be enough for most of them to stop their illegal behavior.
