Game of Thrones

Ok one other question that has been lingering: do the faceless men have skin in the game? (pun not intended but I'm leaving it). Could they have a role in preparing Arya for a role against the dragons or whit walkers? How old is braavos again? Arya was asking about it and I wondered if they had been around when the wall was built.

Is there any connection to the theme for the show on HBO of the characters as "Faceless Men"...

Also - no one has mentioned the dick scene! It took me a minute to realize what I was looking at!

Brienne tells Sansa that she doesn't like the idea of leaving Sansa at Castle Black alone...then we see Sansa leaving with Jon. How did that change happen and where are they going? And Brienne is going to River Run to see LF? Did they discuss that and I missed it (I was distracted by a work email while I was watching).

Sansa talked Brienne into it. I see it as a really unrealistic story that Brienne would have gotten on board with this plan. It's not good that Sansa is unprotected.

I think they're trying to get Brienne back to her storyline in the books, which did not include her traveling to Castle Black. Last the book readers knew, she was in the Riverlands.

You're probably right. After all, based purely on the tv storyline, there's no reason to send Brienne down there and not Pog (? am I getting his name right? Brienne's former companion before running into Sansa)

I assumed Pod was going with her. He's her squire and was at Castle Black with her. Did he not go with her?

No he was riding behind Sansa and Jon as they left through the gate.

The Faceless Men have no skin in the game. Their purpose is to serve the Many-Faced God (death). All men must serve, all men must die, all that. Braavos is 800 years old and The Wall is 8,000 years old.

They're all in the yard leaving at the same time. Brienne is next to Tormund on horseback while Sansa gives Jon the new cloak. Then they all leave. The season 6 previews also show Brienne and Pod both in Riverun, so I think they are going together.

What was the point if the dick scene? Just some make nudity to balance all the female tits and ass?

Specifically to make people stop asking for male nudity to balance all the female tits and ass. Because no one needs to see any more of that on a 42" screen.

Well I missed that. I take it wasn't a flashback to the dick in the box courtesy of Ramsey?

I was laying there thinking poor Meera dragging Bran away on his own. it's only a matter of time before they catch up to them. What's going to happen to Bran and Meera - and is there anywhere on the internet who will tell me what happens next so I can stop stressing out about it? (lol)

The books haven't gone this far, but there is a character in the books who has not been introduced in the show who I think may save them. I hope anyway. I'm stressed about it too.

Coldhands, for sure. This is a good (if unusual considering his much earlier appearance in the books) place to bring him in.

So I am ashamed to admit that I have read all the books (granted, it's been years), but I don't remember Coldhands. Care to throw me a lifeline?

Sure -- Coldhands is an undead dude (but apparently not a wight) who wears the blacks of the night's watch and is apparently a ranger who died a long time ago (for a while, the theory was that he was Benjen, but that seems to not be the case now). He's got cold, black hands from where the blood pooled and congealed in them after he died.

He rescues Sam and Gilly and gets them from Craster's Keep to the Nightfort, then he helps Bran, Meera, Jojen and Hodor get to Bloodraven. I think he's cool in the books (since he's undead like Lady Stoneheart, Beric Dondarrion, and show-Jon but not a wight, points to some interesting back story) and have been hoping he'll show up in the show. He'd be a good deus ex machina to save Meera and Bran.
