FCPS Skyview Boundary Revised Scenario 1 / 2

I am thinking she is trying to set up a way to say she did her best but the votes went a different way but who knows.

Where can I post comments regarding seema dixit? Her facebook page has nothing.

Oh well. She'll remember when she's sniveling around trying to get reelected.

So the Sully areas getting Skyview and allowed to stay at Chantilly and Centreville will say thanks very much. Are you thinking there will be sufficient discontent in the remaining Westfield area to threaten her re-election? Doesn’t seem that likely to be honest.

The entire western half of Centreville goes to Westfield.

I guess that was her political calculus + maintaining her extremely expensive house's property value.

Good grief. You don't know that Oak Hill is in Sully? It is not staying at Chantilly. They probably would have been happy to stay there but knew it was likely not an option.

Floris is the only school in Sully from the Skyview area that currently sends students to Westfield. McNair is in Hunter Mill, and Coates is in Dranesville.

And, fun fact: Chantilly and Centreville are actually both in Springfield District. Admittedly, most of the students live in Sully.

I bet no one has heard from Springfield SB member.

And, apparently, will continue to do so.

How many of these people will think they got enough of a raw deal with these boundary changes to vote against her, given that most people just vote for incumbents and/or candidates endorsed by the local Democrats in School Board elections?

Clearly there are some, but doubt it’s enough to flip an election. After all, Skyview is in Sully, and is a big investment that FCPS previously had been saying wouldn’t happen for at least another decade.

Also, Franklin Farrm is entirely in Sully District. They are not at Chantilly unless they keep that scenario that splits Oak Hill. Some are currently at Chantilly, most are at Oakton.

So what? Lots of facts that don’t really lead anywhere.

How are Chantilly and Centreville in Springfield district when they are the entire county across from Springfield?

I missed the latest meeting. Is the final decision going to be one out of the two shortlisted options? Are the consultants going to come up with more options before the final decision?
What date is the final decision? I am seeing they are saying July.

Chantilly is on Stringfellow Rd is a dividing line. Rocky Run is in Sully--it is on the other side of Stringfellow Rd. Centreville appears to be a little more inside.
Chantilly parent here. I don't recall hearing from the Springfield SB member.

Here is a magisterial district map:

I think they will take feedback and adjust.
Prediction:
They won't split those neighborhoods. I assume all of Crossfield will stay at Oakton. And, all of Oak Hill will go to Carson/Skyview. Those will be tweaks.

I do not see them moving anyone that is not moving on one of those maps.

Some people think that everyone is able to provide daily transportation for their kids.

Ironically, there was a woman on Nextdoor last fall trying to find transport for her Herndon High assigned kid to go to South Lakes. It was a lengthy post with lots of responses.
Pupil placing is not easy for everyone.

I've been surprised that Meren did not step in sooner. That is why I always thought this would be a problem.
Good luck, Fox Mill!

Meren is asleep at the switch and she will just vote against the final proposal and play the victim while blaming everyone else. It’s pathetic actually.

She has already tossed her hat in the ring for School Board election 2027. She may want to keep her Fox Mill constiuents happy--she also has McNair, some Coates, and some Floris who will be happy.

Her strong supporters for IB South Lakes will vote for her anyway.

Many Crossfield neighborhoods are her constituents, too. Including some of the neighborhoods in Scenario 1.
