It’s not about escaping poverty, it’s about holding yourself and even your own kids back and then trying to blame minorities and immigrants— just like my MAGA relatives do. No one told them to drop out of college, no one stopped them from applying for better jobs, no one stopped them from moving to a lower cost of living city with new opportunities. They were their own worst enemies and now pull the “woe is me I’m a white Christian male so I deserve all the breaks in the world” crap. |
Turn back in your armchair psychology degree. Your entire post is a waste of space that doesn't apply to PP. First, PP just relays their family experience. That's it. They never say in their post anywhere that everyone who is MAGA is like this. You don't get to call them a liar or project your own BS onto their very straightforward post. Second, if you go home and your relatives mock you and belittle your achievements, that's hurtful. This PP can feel any way about these jerks that he/she want. The DO sound like a bunch of losers who are butthurt and envious. What is wrong with YOU that you are posting such nonsense to make YOURSELF feel all high and mighty. Your post is a fail. |

Interesting, I see articles in major international newspapers today with headlines similar to this post :
“America is destroying itself” “Why America is breaking from the inside” “Complete catastrophe: USA going broke “ |
Stop excusing someone being a complete horrible, hateful jerk on being poor and educated. How does THEIR ignorance justify the vileness of their behavior? There are tons of people who are poor and uneducated who don't do the things the MAGA movement does. In 2016, many of us excused their error in voting for Trump. Looked to understand such a gross error in judgement. Now, nope. These people have proven themselves to be the worst of the worst of humanity. Harm others to make yourself feel better? Cheer human rights violations against immigrants and others? Nope. Nope. Nope. MAGA are all the worst humanity has to offer and their are NO excuses for how deplorable, yes, deplorable, they are at this time. If you are MAGA after Trump's first term, something is horribly, horribly broken in you. |
Edit for above "poor and uneducated" |
I agree. The comment was directed at the pp who was suggesting that people who escaped from poverty shouldn’t look down on the impoverished — which is JD’s entire being, his MO. |
What a whiner. |
STFU. When Biden wasn’t napping, he was encouraging millions of illegals to come in & do whatever they wanted. |
I hear this often -- "OMG! The illegals were coming in and draining resources. Oh no!" I'd love to see how much Trump has hurt our economy with tariffs, war in Iran, massive deficits. How much Trump has hurt our standing with our allies by basically saying "eff you" to anyone who doesn't follow his every command. How many people around the world have died because Trump cut USAID and now death and disease are running rampant. How much has Trump hurt our science and research and development because he slashed those government funds. Sheesh, we just sent astronauts on a historic mission and now Trump wants to cut NASA by 24%. Honestly, the whole anger thing regarding illegals feels like a massive misdirection so people don't notice what's really going wrong. Don't focus on our rising gas prices or hospitals having to close; no, you should give in to your racist impulses and hate those refugees. You should hate those trans. You should hate all Dems. Just hate, and you won't even notice that you can't afford your treatment for cancer, or even get a doctor. Don't worry about all that. Just keep hating. |
Anthropic AI will be happy to do the job. |

It’s globalization and the relative ease of coming to the U.S.
any resource is finite. Social programs are stretched thin |
DP. Does this mean it’s ok for them to burn warehouses and assassinate CEOs? The progressives in the warehouse fire thread seem to justify/excuse it in that case. Wondering if the same logic applies to poor white people? |
Aren’t you the benevolent one? |
What does benevolence have to do with staying a simple and obvious fact. It’s the truth. Voting for Trump is one of the gravest errors in judgment any American has ever made in the voting booth. |
| Ben & Jerry's co-founder Ben Cohen has stated that the U.S. is not a democracy but a "dollarocracy," where political donations from corporations and wealthy donors dictate election outcomes and policy over the will of the people. He argues that members of Congress represent money rather than citizens, often using the phrase "one dollar, one vote" to describe the system |
