C'mon man. They were essentially in last place across the board with maybe one team as an exception to that. Don't re-write history. |
“We have been thinking very hard about what role MLS should play in women’s soccer,” he said. “We have been very focused on being as good as we possibly can be, and we’re still in a growth phase. So we’re laser-focused on doing what we have to do in getting that right. That being said, I see no reason why MLS Next should not have a girls component to it. If we are building the infrastructure to have tens of thousands of kids playing at an elite level, why recreate that and have somebody else incur that expense? We ought to be able to figure out a girls component of that, and whether we do that on our own, or whether we do that with the NWSL, we ought to be able to figure that out.”
Garber also left open the possibility of building out a women’s counterpart to MLS Next Pro, Major League Soccer’s developmental league. “With MLS Next Pro, we’re building a third division in our country,” said Garber. “(Soon,) we’ll have a hell of a lot more teams than we have today. And as we’re going out and building professional soccer at that level, in many, many markets outside of the MLS world, there’s no reason to think that at some point that there shouldn’t be an MLS Next Pro women’s division. Whether we do that on our own or whether we do that with the NWSL is still to be seen. But it makes sense, as we think about ‘the MLS way’ that is all about efficiency and productivity, and trying to lead, and lead with our resources, we ought to be able to figure out a way to further the growth of the women’s game. We have no plans on doing that today, but we ought to be thinking about how to do that tomorrow.” |
Exciting news, thanks for clipping and posting. Realistically is happening post 2026 WC or in time for next Women's 2027, or we talking 203_? |
I’m sure before or after the World Cup, when Soccer interest in the US peaks, announcements or more information will come out. |
You’re the one attempting to re-write history — and failing. PP provided accurate information. And BRAVE achieved this being a new ECNL club. |
There are ex Mclean players currently playing in GA and ECNL who may be looking to go back plus some RL from outside who could not break into ECNL team. |
A balanced GA team with MV as a coach will bother SYC big time. |
No point in speculating until the coaching slates are announced. |
McLean can have him |
Can you point out where BRAVE (or BRYC) is, across any age group: https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-soccer-articles/ecnl-girls-champions-league-playoff-draw_aid53422 https://www.soccerwire.com/news/club-by-club-results-from-the-2022-2023-ecnl-girls-champions-league-postseason/ https://www.soccerwire.com/news/club-by-club-results-from-the-2022-ecnl-girls-champions-league-postseason/ |
I smell a BRYC hater. You gotta let that go. It's not healthy. And the the PP is correct in '24. You're citing '22 and '23. BRAVE Girls were middle of pack in the MA with the exception of two age groups who at the bottom and two age groups who were top 4/5. It's really in past though and you need to move on. |
In its last year, Brave teams finished as follows: 2011 - 7th place (of 13) 2010 - 5th place [champions league] 2009 - 13th place 2008 - 4th place [champions league] 2007 - 12th place 2006 - 10th place Average place, 8.5. |
Brave was never that bad. Brave was only for two years, 22-23 and 23-24 22/23 - average place 8.83 of 13 (1 team in champions league) 23/24 - average place 8.50 of 13 (2 teams in champions league) |
The problem with McLean and Brave is their boy’s program, if McLean ca get MLS Next it will give them an opportunity to attract better talent. |
Not quite MV is a Vienna coach first and foremost. He sticks with Brave part deux or coaches RL teams at Vienna like he did for years prior to like 3 years ago |
