His whole biracial family is going to be cleaning up in places like Ashburn and other multiracial suburbs that Trump needs to win. 60 Minutes interviews are on deck with Vance and his family. Don’t get too cocky.

His wife is beautiful. Can't wait to hear an interview with the two of them.
I think he is a GREAT pick. Any one of the front runners would be a huge improvement over the one we have now.

You think she's beautiful? Maybe for a Brown woman but certainly not in mainstream America.

Stop it

Seriously? He is running on a presidential ticket. It is going to get much much uglier than that. Look up the comments about Kamala Harris or Barack and Michelle Obama if you want to see what is in store for us all.

Seriously. He is fair game and looks like a dough boy troll.

But leave the spouses and kids alone. She has it bad enough being married to him.

Agree, going after her about her looks is terrible. However, I seriously question her judgement of character.

He went from a single parent, broken household and living in poverty to graduating from Yale, being a best selling author of a movie directed by Ron Howard, and is a US Senator.

Sounds like good character to me. Maybe if he made his own kombucha or had a support animal he would make the cut for you?

He’s a product of an eastern elitist liberal institution.

Was a very present dad. Talked with his son about the car. And he was not on his phone. Some of the moms in the pack probably helped knit the "signs."

Look what he wants to do to his daughter if we are going to talk about how he treats his children.

What he wants to do to all of our daughters.

Teach her to respect herself and life? What a terrible dad.

I know a guy from Appalachia in DC and it’s pretty obvious why he can’t get ahead even though he’s handsome, intelligent, and has “elite” degrees and jobs.

It’s because he is a MAGA lunatic who says hateful, horrible things for shock value and is then shocked that women in particular are repulsed by him. He had a wonderful girlfriend who left him after about ten months because even though she skewed conservative she couldn’t stand the constant complaining and faux outrage over minor things.

As opposed to what DCUM thinks of them? And he's from Ohio with family that grew up in Kentucky Appalachia. WV has nothing to do with it.

It's rich that DCUM land is suddenly defending the very people that posters like to be smug about, the people you think are dumb, call hill billies and rednecks. Now you're their saviors? GMAFB. You never cared about any of the people from Appalachia (which is a huge area of the US) and you don't care about them now.

I am not a conservative, nor am I am big JD Vance fan. I have read his book many years ago and I have no idea if what he wrote was his actual true experience but much of it translates seamlessly into what was family experience of being poor, from a trashy, poor family, that had extensive disfunction and generational trauma. And trust me, people in the DMV never let you forget, especially if you have an accent like me. So save it.

I am from Ohio. Went to Ohio State, too.

He is a fraud. He grew up in Middletown. Middle class. He has some poor family members. Wow! We all do. He is such a tool and fraud.

So rape victims didn’t respect themselves?

How can she respect herself and her life if she has no bodily autonomy?

Hmm. Trump picked a fraud to collaborate with.

Who would have guessed. 😂

also teaching her that her life is not that important, and that if she gets raped, she must have her rapist's baby.

Won’t he encourage all of his children to live chastely and to marry a wonderful spouse when/if they discern that’s God’s plan for them?

I do worry about women going into sepsis during dangerous pregnancies and litigation-shy doctors not knowing how to interpret poorly written laws, but other than that, I agree with the pro-life platform.

He very well be a fraud and I am not voting for him, but the overwhelming majority of posters on DCUM make disparaging remarks and have horrible opinions re people from the south and/or Appalachia and are never afraid to show it, unless they are suddenly defending those same people against Trump or Vance. Just GTFOH. They can just say they think his policies and positions are bad (that's what I think).

Well the millions of rape victims would like a word.

I don't really know what to think of him. He's been extremely critical of Trump privately and publicly. His wife is liberal. He got hurt by bad critics of his books and blamed the "elite" for that...but he IS the elite. He has some bipartisan initiatives with democrats. All in all, I feel like things could have been worse. Any Trump VP was going to share a general despicable Trump agenda, but this guy's character is not as far-gone garbage as some other GOP, or as Trump himself.
