I read his book when it first came out. It was clear from the opening chapters that he hates them. |
Well even in the good old "America was so great" days women made this decision for themselves as they should. But it was ugly and dangerous |
This. So republicans can call Michelle Obama “Big Mike” and say she looks like a “tranny” years after her dh left office but I can’t call this woman frumpy? Oh. Okay. |
That's not really the relevant point though. |
He went from a single parent, broken household and living in poverty to graduating from Yale, being a best selling author of a movie directed by Ron Howard, and is a US Senator. Sounds like good character to me. Maybe if he made his own kombucha or had a support animal he would make the cut for you? |
He wrote about Ohio, not WV. I’m sure they read it years ago. |
Lol. What an odd response. What does having a support animal have to do with being a good person? |
Earlier this year, we were at Pinewood Derby and I noticed that JD was there with his sons. His oldest was competing. It was just his sons and him. He helped with chairs. Was a very present dad. Talked with his son about the car. And he was not on his phone. Some of the moms in the pack probably helped knit the "signs." |
As opposed to what DCUM thinks of them? And he's from Ohio with family that grew up in Kentucky Appalachia. WV has nothing to do with it. It's rich that DCUM land is suddenly defending the very people that posters like to be smug about, the people you think are dumb, call hill billies and rednecks. Now you're their saviors? GMAFB. You never cared about any of the people from Appalachia (which is a huge area of the US) and you don't care about them now. I am not a conservative, nor am I am big JD Vance fan. I have read his book many years ago and I have no idea if what he wrote was his actual true experience but much of it translates seamlessly into what was family experience of being poor, from a trashy, poor family, that had extensive disfunction and generational trauma. And trust me, people in the DMV never let you forget, especially if you have an accent like me. So save it. |
Look what he wants to do to his daughter if we are going to talk about how he treats his children. |
What he wants to do to all of our daughters. |
