Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
| There are no mandates, no future masking, no future testing, no nothing. So, stop complaining already and plan for some sick days. |
No one said there was any of that. |
It’s still nice to hear a poster describing normal life and victory, though. |
Its pretty sad you think its a victory and normal life is having covid a few times a year. Its sad that you don't care about anyone, including your kids. |
What are you talking about? MCPS has been clear no mandates, no masking and no testing. Plan to get covid if you haven't had it in the last few months. |
You think it’s sad. I’m happy. We have balance. |
There is no balance. How will you feel when your kids get covid over and over again? I guess you will not care and force them to school even when sick as you cannot be bothered with them. Its good school is reopening soon so yours will have a safe place to be since home is not. |
Agreed. It’s good that the schools are open. The kids really enjoy the first part of the year. The holidays are always fun too. |
I think it’s a victory that covid no longer presents a significant risk of severe illness. And I think it’s a victory that we no longer need to restrict the activities and behaviors of kids in order to protect the elderly and sick, who now have other ways to protect themselves. |
For the majority of people it never has been severe illness and the virus has mutated and is now more contagious but less severe. There are many who still are restricted in their activities and behaviors because of people like you and cannot risk getting sick. There are no ways to protect themselves without community support beyond staying isolated. You simply don't get it and minimize what is going on to justify your behavior. |
You cannot control Covid via community behavior. We have open borders at all levels. You can control it via your own behavior, though. |
There have always been immunocompromised people who can get very sick even from the common cold. Guess what…. The world has never revolves around them. They need to protect themselves, but the rest of the world will and has moved on |
Of course they can protect themselves. They can get vaccinated and boosted. If they’re immunocompromised, they can get Evushield. If they get infected, they can take Paxlovid or get monoclonal antibodies. They can wear personal protective equipment or limit activities in crowded indoor areas when they're unable to wear PPE. People aren't helpless. |
I never cease to be surprised at how many selfish wretches there are. |
Vaccinated does not stop transmission nor is it easy to get Paxlovid or an monoclonal antibody. You keep saying it is but its not, speaking from experience. |
