Opps sorry was tying too quickly.

I meant ECNL not ECRL
If ECNL thins out their weaker teams and tries to send them to ECRL those clubs could definitely look at MLSN2/GA.

Whatever, but I meant ECNL not ECRL.

Are you crazy? Any club with their top team in mlsn2 is running to ecnl right now. Mlsn2 now firmly a second team league. Always was, but at least there was the illusion of a pathway. That’s gone.

In your head maybe. Everyone else will keep going to MLSN clubs and it wont matter if they're 1 or 2.

The way they got outside clubs to come to mlsn2 was selling them on playing mlsn1 teams and the possibility to move up to mlsn1.

The only clubs staying in mlsn2 will be mlsn1 second teams. No point to mlsn2 for outside clubs now.

bad marketing. Now MLS2 is an obvious shill to everybody. It will hurt MLS2 only clubs.

Even to MLS1 club with MLS2 team, the pathway to scam potential players to join MLS2 team will become much harder.

Right now MLSN1 (Homegrown and Academy teams) play in the same league. MLS2 is everyone else.

Whats going to happen next is that MLS is going to sort through the MLSN1 clubs to determine which ones want to play in the highest level BY league and which want to play in the 2nd tier SY league. Also some clubs with have a BY MLSN1 team and a SY MLSN2 team.

Net effect for boys is BY will be 1st tier and SY will be 2nd tier.

Yes suddenly NAL may be a landing spot MLsn2 players that don’t want to do crazy travel knowing it is a total scam. I think NAL and ECNL talent pools will increase as a result. MLSN2 takes a big hit for sure.

No. Clubs that don’t want the headache will move to ecnl. They’ll give it a year or two but that’s where they will go. No one is sticking around for a second tier mls.
